Democratic Party tries to pin ‘record high’ 2025 grocery prices on Trump – but it completely backfires
NY Post ^ | 7/24/25 | Victor Nava

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) drew widespread mockery Thursday over a since-deleted social media post that showed how the cost of groceries skyrocketed under former President Joe Biden.

The X post included a graph of soaring cheese, alcohol, dairy, grocery, produce and meat prices dating back to October 2019, with the major inflection point being near the start of the Biden administration in 2021.

“Trump’s America,” read the tweet shared by @TheDemocrats.

“Prices are higher today than they were on July 2024 all in major categories listed below,” read the caption on the graphic, which did not note the source of the data.

The White House rapid response X account seized on the post – adding a “Biden” label with two arrows pointing to the price jumps under the previous administration.

The Biden-era price surges – highlighted in red by the White House – took up the majority of the graph, whereas the more stable cost of goods under Trump was only a sliver of the chart.

Several people on social media pointed out the “self own” by the Democratic Party.

“I don’t know … Kinda looks like Biden’s America,” X user Matthew Rosario noted.

Conservative podcaster Kyle Becker described the tweet as “one of the dumbest posts in @X history,” noting that the DNC deleted it “after getting ratioed into oblivion.”

The idiot that posted this read the headline and didn’t bother to look at the graph. LOL

The Democratic National Committee (DNC), whose members poll at a dismal 14% approval rate, drew widespread mockery Thursday over a since-deleted social media post that emphasized how the cost of groceries skyrocketed under braindead Joe Biden’s ill-fated presidency.

The X post included a graph of soaring cheese, alcohol, dairy, grocery, produce and meat prices dating back to October 2019, with the major inflection point being near the start of the Biden administration in 2021.

Stupidly misreading the text and failing to see the graph, Democrats gloated: “Trump’s America,” in a tweet signed @TheDemocrats.

Dems are largely innumerate by Republican standards. This includes ability to read and interpret graphs of numerical data.

I’d guess democrats have found a way to use certain restrictions and/or obstacles and regulations that cause reduction in the supply of beef. The left hates meat eaters, especially beef.

Super regulation of cattle and tracing programs over spongiform brain disease. They tried to do that with poultry abs eggs over bird flu.

Fake but accurate. The morons will believe what they’re told and not bother to interpret the data.
They want a narrative that Trump has done nothing to bring down prices for the midterms.
pS Falling prices is not a good thing (depression) stabilize prices and bringing up wages is a better thing. IMO

Some poor 22 year old intern, who believes everything the left tells her, probably saw the graph elsewhere and thought it confirmed everything she “knew”. The problem was, she didn’t know how to read a graph.

It’s those big four and five hundred pound mamas the DemonRATS keep hiring as DEI programmers who are eating all the groceries. Them and the huge Darian Gap big mamas the illegal alien “hardworkers” brought with them. The food shelves in Walmart don’t stand a chance.

It is not just beef that is ridiculously expensive. As I see it, these high prices started sometime back, but now since inflation is supposedly lower, those already ridiculous prices are just not coming down as most people think they should have. There is still inflation, perhaps at a lower rate, but still in play.

Herds were sold down a couple of years ago it takes time to raise more.

I posted this on 2/16/2025:

Here is the other half of the story.

I will lay the food crisis squarely at the feet of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.

People forget about the ripple effect of the backlog at the Los Angleses port that most famously resulted in the scarcity of baby formula for many months.

As I posted last August:

People are forgetting that the root cause of the increased food prices today is due to the Biden-Harris-Buttigieg administration's failure to manage the supply chain back in 2022.

If you recall, the fallout from the botched supply chain backup resulted in rail companies declaring force majeure and canceling transport contracts for grains and feedstocks to farmers. This forced farmers to dump milk, and eventually slaughter their chickens and livestock because they couldn't feed them. The rail companies had to prioritize their rolling stock to help alleviate the backlogs at the west coast shipping ports and transport those goods across the country.

We're now seeing the prices of milk, cheese, eggs, ground beef, bacon, bread, and other farm products rise because it takes years to recover from the slaughter of herds of beef livestock, milking cows, pigs, chickens, and the loss of the resulting dairy and meat byproducts.
