Pee-wee Herman’s iconic red bicycle to be permanently displayed at the Alamo
New York Post ^ | 7/20/25 | Chris Nesi

The red-and-white souped-up Schwinn bicycle made famous in the 1985 film “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure” will soon have a new permanent home in what is arguably one of the most unusual movie tie-ins in the history of celluloid.

The bike — which served as the MacGuffin in the Tim Burton-directed cult favorite — will be permanently displayed in the Alamo Visitor Center and Museum in San Antonio to mark the 40th anniversary of the movie’s theatrical release.

James Bonham, James Bowie and Davey Crocket were all Masons who died at the Alamo.

Why don't you take a picture? It'll last longer.

Robin Williams suffered from Lemy’s disease. A horrible way to go out.

Why don’t they bring Ozzy in and let him urinate on the Alamo again.

I don’t care what anyone else thinks. I loved the Pee Wee movies. Allusions to Hollywood like Quentin Tarantino. A genuine honoring of comedies before his career. May he RIP.

In the movie he was given a false tip that his stolen bicycle was in the basement of the Alamo-—which has no basement.

I Remember the Alamo gains him the help of the Texans.

If I may....it sounded like he worked his ass off for a long time. He was controlling, maybe arrogant, pissed off some people, but he had his vision and wasn’t going to be denied. Not uncommon traits of high performers. Authentic.

Enjoy

The Alamo has forever been a small
All nitch on Alamo St next to the Emily Morgan And the famous Member hotels. Tourists were constantly surprised how small and insignificant it was just a place for the horse carrigiges would wait or employees from Joskes( major dept.store)would eat lunch. About 5 years ago the city council decided to transform the entire area into an Alamo Experience. They closed stores, shut off vehicle traffic, added some forgotten celebrations, enlarged the visitor center( which was always inside the oak doors) Now it's a fake tourist trap that has all sorts of “ memorbilia * that looks like junk from China.
