Bondi's DoJ Rejects Ghislaine Maxwell Appeal: What to Know
Newsweek ^ | July 15 | By Kate Plummer

Posted on 07/15/2025 12:50:36 AM PDT by RandFan

The Department of Justice has called on the Supreme Court to reject an appeal by Ghislaine Maxwell to overturn her conviction.

Maxwell was convicted in 2021 over her links to Jeffrey Epstein, a wealthy financier who died by suicide in jail in August 2019, weeks after his arrest on sex trafficking charges. Maxwell was sentenced for recruiting Epstein's victims and is serving a 20-year prison sentence in Tallahassee, Florida.

In April, Maxwell submitted a plea to the Supreme Court to overturn her conviction. She said she was covered by a non-prosecution agreement made between Epstein and the U.S. government in 2007 regarding his other co-conspirators.

But the DoJ argued in a new filing that Maxwell should not be covered by the agreement.

“Maxwell has been ready to disclose data for years...”

I know it's early out here and I'm only on my first cup, so when I glanced at the title of this post I thought it read "Bondi's Dad" ... and I thought, Trump?

Getting old is sometimes "incovenient", but as my dad always said: "Consider the alternative." Cheers! all

Well if NO ONE is guilty of sex trafficking or pedophilia, why is she locked up? Just asking.

That’s odd. Epstein didn’t have victims or clients.

Was about to post the exact same thing :^ /

Well the Federal Prosecutor ,Accosta, made that deal back then. Let’s see what the court says. What if she gets a new trial or is just freed, then what?

Don’t forget Trump thought about giving her a pardon.

Total settlements have been over $800 Million to about 200 or so women in various law suits since Epstein died. That is where you find the names of people involved.

She’s alive because she has kept her mouth shut.

This legal remedy was her Plan A.

But Blondi’s court filing is an attempt to prolong the process.

It at least keeps her silent for a while.

I still think the Ghislaine Maxwell problem will be solved with a pardon at the end of Trump’s term and an immediate resettlement to Israel.

According to Trump all of what happened was fake. It shouldn’t be dealr wirh. Bondi said something similar. Yet Bondi is persuring this. He needs to fire her.

Maxwell should be free.

Pardon is the key word.

Ghislaine is blackmailing the administration.

Shades of Watergate and E. Howard and Dorothy Hunt....

If the administration is as confident as some posters here that there is no there there they can confidently ignore her blackmail demands.

On the other hand....

the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit denied her appeal, ruling that the agreement only applied to the Southern District of Florida and not to prosecutors in New York.
Working with Epstein, Jizzlane groomed minors for pedophiles.
Then they blackmailed them. Who were their clients?
Why is the DOJ protecting them?
This is really sordid stuff.

19 years, 5 months, 3 days

Age difference between PDJT and Ms Bondi

Point of reference: DJT Jr (31 yo), Ivanka (35 yo), Eric (37 1/2 yo), Tiffany (47 yo), and Barron (59 3/4 yo)

While not crazy of a societal thought, because he was old enough for “consent”, I’m impressed he waited until after 30 for his first...I was 24 and just out of my active duty USMC contract, and my second within two years. He has some great patience.

She is guilty of child sec trafficking; that’s why she’s in prison for 20 years.

That’s why she wants a platform now, nothing to lose, everything to gain. Who can accuse her of lying?

Re: "Yeah. Every person pays off an accuser....yeah...right."

Civil lawsuits can cost millions of dollars and years to defend.

Many defendants simply calculate the cost to defend, offer some fraction of that cost to the plaintiff, and admit no guilt.

If the plaintiff refuses to settle, the plaintiff lawyers typically ask their client to pay their legal fees up front.

Settling was the only way the Royal Family could avoid Prince Andrew giving sworn public testimony about his friendship with sex addict Jeffrey Epstein.

Re: "They paid 12 million to Giuffre."

There are at least a half dozen different estimates that have been reported.

If you can show me the signed legal papers, I will believe your estimate.
