I knew it, he is a loony democRAT.
Just what you want in a commercial airline pilot.
I’d bet the pilot shut off the fuel on purpose, depression (mental illness) could be the reason.
Didn't a domestic off duty pilot freak out on a flight due to mushrooms taken for ptsd or something?
Great ! Never board an airliner with a clinically depressed pilot !
Are they going to start handing out psychological analysis reports on airline captains at the gate before you board a flight to allow for the informed consent of passengers?
I will be sure and always ask the gate agent, before I board a flight, if the captain on my flight is having a “BAD DAY.”
Maybe they could have a placard at each boarding gate with one of two hanging notices, “Your aircraft captain (named) today is: “MANIC” or “DEPRESSED.”
Airlines could boast in their advertising, “Our pilots are the least clinically depressed of any flying today!”
I’m sure this is a false report.
No way an airline would let a pilot fly in that state....
Egypt Air in 1999 JFK-Cairo crashed into Atlantic off Nantucket.
Reserve co-pilot took control and put plane into a dive intentionally.
From what I read in another thread over the weekend, it’s patently clear one of the pilots activated the fuel cutoff to both engines.
It’s an informed conclusion that the first officer is the likely culprit since he is charged instrument panel duties while the CO was preoccupied with piloting the aircraft during climb out. This opinion departs from recent news pointing fingers at the CO re his mental health following the death of his mother.
Stating the obvious: If the CO was flying the a/c and wanted to suicide himself with the a/c, all he had to do was go nose-down. Worse, the CVR allegedly contains a recording of one pilot asking the other why he cutoff the fuel, to which the other denies having done so. I would assert it was the FO who made the denial and that it was the CO who returned the switches to the run position. Assuming, of course, that the CO was flying the a/c (I have not seen that confirmed).
The passengers never had a chance at that altitude, nearly as effective as a bomb at cruising altitude.
Personally, I wonder if the jab played a role (ironically, India’s pilots demanded a jab mandate, the hysteria over there was so high).
I eagerly await the CVR and FDR details, as this crash places a heavy burden upon the airlines and regulatory authorities to prevent a repeat incident.
Agree a loony democRAT drugs and inbreeding causes them.
I’ve read similar, but have no idea if what I read was true.
The claim was that both engines had fuel shutoff within a certain number of secods. The report implied it seemed intentional, but maybe i’m reading into it.
Again I don’t know if i read was garbage or not
It was established in the preliminary report that the First Officer was flying the plane at takeoff, with the Capitan observing.
NY Post site annoying as hades with all their pop up ads and redirects.
That is exactly backwards. The FO was flying the plane at takeoff, the PIC was monitoring.
CO? Captain?
Who had the record of depression - the First Officer or the Captain?
“”Who had the record of depression - the First Officer or the Captain?””
Captain!
I’m on a roll....sorry!
Like that German copilot. The drugs they “treat” people with induce suicidal and homicidal thinking. This why you will find that every school, Church and workplace shooter is on these drugs.
I am so tired of this crap. It is not proof that a pilot did something this rash. If everyone who was depressed killed people then half the world would be wiped out. Unless the guy was making threats then this means nothing definitive.
Meanwhile I have to also listened to the mindless dribble about who flipped the switch when no one wants to even touch the possibility that no one did. That there was a glitch. Which could happen electronically in a number of ways. Anything from a lose wire, power supply, to a computer glitch. And because very few people want to even consider it a possibility then no one is even trying to prove or disprove the theory.
Here is a great question that can be answered by those in the know. If the switches are turned off then is there a warning on the pilots screen that they have been shut off? Just a small piece in building a puzzle.
A simple question that no one will ask or answer because the human race is so content to remain stupid. Ask no questions, nor think for themselves. Just take whatever is fed to them.
There are a very few people asking these questions, but they are drowned out by the ignorant sheep.
This reminds me of that (muzzie) Egyptian pilot that nose dived into the ocean a few years ago.
