It’s an informed conclusion that the first officer is the likely culprit since he is charged instrument panel duties while the CO was preoccupied with piloting the aircraft during climb out.

That is exactly backwards. The FO was flying the plane at takeoff, the PIC was monitoring.

That’s news to me.

I was avoiding posted stories until facts were available and never saw that posted.

Now it makes sense why they were focusing on the CO.
