[history]
The detention facility, located in the Everglades, houses hundreds of migrants in a tent city. Lawmakers were given a limited tour and claim they were denied access to areas where migrants are currently detained.
Detainees reportedly live in crowded cages (32 per cage), and have limited access to hygiene. Lawmakers reported seeing meager meals, and detainees are using the same water from the toilets for drinking and brushing their teeth.

The first of our new FEMA camps. A tad more intimidating than the original ones.

If I know the government, they are all drinking bottled water. The water for the toilets and sinks is tap water, probably stored on site in tanks.

    Me, too.
But there are limits. I see from the article photo that Debbie Wasserman-Schultz was there. Having to look at her profoundly ugly mug is cruel and unusual

Who’s going to tell them?

Kinda makes me think you shouldn't have broken the law in the first place. The American taxpayer is tired of supporting you, so your incarceration is meant to be unpleasant. Perhaps that will help deter others from entering the US illegally.

Detainees reportedly live in crowded cages (32 per cage), and have limited access to hygiene. Are they supposed to have unlimited access to hygiene? Are they supposed to be able to shower all day? It would be one hell of a waste of treated water.
 These clowns are amazing.

Ok, I will agree that might be a bit far. Worse then playing Baby Shark on loop.

Poor things. I don’t think they have ever lived on a warship during water rationing. Crowded berthing becomes rather pungent. Of course us snipes made the water so.... lol. Its gets rather hot down in those engine rooms.

I think they show the cages and let the dem activists experience the compound for 24-48 hours from the inside to ensure a full understanding.

There's an easy way to eat and drink what you want and romp in the cool breeze and sunshine of your home. It's GO HOME!
If you don't like taking the chance of a bureaucratic deportation with all the discomfort that entails, just go home on your own.

FWIW they are NOT drinking toilet water. The prison system has a unitary sink/toilet.
https://www.acorneng.com/combination-toilet-lavatoryThe water they drink is not out of the toilet bowl unless they want to do that based on customs in their respective countries.
The rats have used this falsehood before.
