They want to make sure you never own your house (taxes) even if you pay it off. Repo man standing by, Trump is right

Except DeSantis didn't come up with it.

""The idea for the "Alligator Alcatraz" detention facility in the Florida Everglades was spearheaded by Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, according to PBS. He coined the nickname "Alligator Alcatraz" to highlight the facility's remote location and the natural dangers of the surrounding Everglades.""

Property tax is a state, not federal thing.

"Please do tell us more of your savings plan!!"

Gold. I put mine in a hiding spot in my mother's old house. Unfortunately, some maintenance guy found my stash while I was in prison

“Does he collect royalties or something?”

Armstrong/delta7 runs a scam site and is here to find suckers.

Spent eleven years in the federal pen for securities’ fraud.

Also loves Russia. Has relatives and possible business ventures there although all his past ventures have failed. Three bankruptcies. Seems scamming is the only thing that works for him.

Middle class working persons have the highest property to net worth and property to total assets ratios. For many middle class persons not only is their house the largest asset they own, often it is the only significant asset they own.

I will add, my efforts yielded a property tax that is now the same as when I bought the house in 2008….$2800 in ever decreasing paper USD’s….the only thing stopping one from higher property taxes is yourself.

Prepare, appeal, get estimates, take pictures and take a day off for the hearing. My “ savings” over the past three years has been $7K plus, multiplied greatly by investing that money in anything not denominated in paper USD’s.

Good luck!

“Mind if I borrow your story?”

Ask delta7. His story but has made no objection to my using it.

At least for the coins, that’s largely where matters stood until March 2014, when, according to court papers, a day laborer walked into a Philadelphia thrift shop operated by George and Andrew Antoniak and sold them a box of coins for $6,000. The laborer said he found them while clearing out a house in New Jersey, according to the Antoniaks.

Armstrong admitted that he didn’t give the coins to an Australian business partner but instead hid them and others “in a secret compartment in the basement of his mother’s home,

I’ve always thought property taxes were a bad idea, but if states can’t tax property then they will have to figure out some other revenue through taxation. This “other way” may drastically affect seniors living on social security who were not paying property tax before, but might then be paying some form of tax they can’t possibly afford. If you are living on Social Security & are at the low end of those payments, you don’t have much to begin with. For instance, what if states who do not put a sales tax on food decide to do so? What then? That would hit just about anybody that eats. It would be disastrous for some.

It depends on where you are. We pay a lot of property tax and have no local law enforecement, a private subscription fire service, one elementary school that costs over $12,000 per student. The sum total of services we get for our taxes is a dumpster 18 miles from the house. I figure it costs us about a hundred bucks a sack to toss our trash.
