I know an animal thread, but I guess the Emus wanted to get independence from the Minnesota climate and Tim Walz.
It's a long way to New Zealand, though.

Back in my luggage=delivery days I was coming back from Bandera one night (an interesting delivery but not germane to this) when I saw something BIG AND DARK in the median, A couple miles later there were a couple vehicles stopped on the side of the road so I stopped.
They asked: “You haven’t seen an emu, have you?”
Well, maybe - told them where I say it and drove on.

Probably part of Waltzing Tiny Timmy’s “Vote for what you don’t need” project.

Maybe the emus escaped on their own. Or maybe they got a little help from Doug.

I tried emu meat once. Sort of like bland slightly rubbery red chicken meat.
So run-away emus are safe from me.

Were they sad and dressed in black?

After subduing Australia, now their scouts are seeking to colonize America.
Have you ever heard of a thing called Emus? Do you realize that they are the most monstrously conceived and dangerous avian plot we have ever had to face?”

Indeed even skunks can’t stand the stench of him.

The is an emu breeder farm about 3 miles from my house. We occasionally get emails to be on the look-out for runaway birds.

"Somebody else in the area that owns emus also thought they were his, so he ran and he captured them, brought them home and he realized 'Wait a minute, these aren't mine.'" They all look alike, or emu-late someone else's emu at your own risk?
I hope this guy is emmune from criticism. His buddies could really get some mileage out of the emusement factor.
It must have been an emutional remunion.
