In his book "A Tramp Abroad," Mark Twain describes the enthusiasm in Germany for an aged singer in concert, and the power of sheer nostalgia combined with a willful suspension of expectations.
Not to worry, Willie's guitar has a big hole in it where the rainwater can drain out.
You don’t have to be a weatherman to know which way the wind is blowing.
“Octogenarians in concert?”
************
With a ridiculous ‘outlaw’ theme. Total absurdity.
To All.
Bob Dylan is my all time favorite in show business. I should have gotten around to writing a book I planned about him but didn’t. Once counted the books about him I have read. Went over 110. New ones recently.
I was late in buying his albums-—started with the second one.
God bless him.
I despise Nelson personally, but I absolutely love his singing. I am a woman. Don’t know if that makes a difference.
Clockwise from top left: Johnny Cash (1977), Waylon Jennings (1976), Kris Kristofferson (1985), and Willie Nelson (1978).
Not only that, but Bob Vylan couldn’t make it either ...
My son went to see this concert last week in TN. I asked him how it was and he said “interesting. I’m glad I got to experience it”.
Mr G saw Dylan in concert when he worked on the Dylan and the Dead album. He said Dylan just had an “aura” about him.
Since both these men have a combined 95 years in the music business, and neither is “star struck” I find their reactions intriguing.
“Octogenarians in concert?’
