Are you really impressed with that house? It’s a one story ranch. I was expecting Clinton type house. This house AOC lived in was 100K max. And even less when her parents bought it.

My husband grew up in Yorktown Heights and I was there often when we started dating (met in college). It is a beautiful suburb, no ghetto for sure!!
When she was being raised there 35 years ago, Yorktown was a lot more blue-collar than it is today. There were no fashionable shops or restaurants and the only grocery store was closed on Sundays. Large Italian Catholic presence. The house AOC’s father bought is very humble, very working class, and if it’s now valued at $550k that reflects insane escalation in New York real estate prices rather than a posh suburban upbringing. I despise AOC, but she should be attacked on grounds of her bad ideas and probable corruption, not because people are fabricating a fashionable background for her. If she was born in Bedford, near Ralph Lauren and Martha Stewart, that would be different. But Yorktown was the home of cops and blue-collar people when the Cortez family was there. I know what I’m talking about—I lived there.
