A group of fifth-grade students were arrested last fall over an alleged plot to murder a fellow student after being overheard discussing their plans, according to a newly released police report.
Four students at the Legacy Traditional School in Surprise, Arizona, were accused of planning to fatally stab a fellow fifth grade student and forge a suicide note to make it appear self-inflicted, according to the police report. A parent alerted the school of the plot on Oct. 1, 2024, after their child overheard the group talking about it.
The students and their parents were instructed to come back to the school the following morning for the school's investigation, per the report.
Through the investigation, it was found that one of the accused students, a girl, was allegedly in a "relationship" with the victim, a boy, who had cheated on her, according to the report. The girl hated him and wanted him dead, the report said.
During a lunch on Oct. 1, 2024, the students were involved in a conversation on how to "end him," the report said. According to interviews with the suspects, the plan involved allegedly luring the boy to a bathroom and stabbing him in the stomach.
They would wear gloves so as not to leave behind fingerprints and forge a suicide note, the report said.

I hadn't expected that 10-yr olds would show up on the Hot/Crazy Matrix, but now I wonder:
WTF has happened to our children?!
In my day, the plot would be against the teacher.
Crazy and/or evil. People love to pass off evil women as just merely crazy, like its not who they are. Totally stulid to think that.
We were in Girl Scouts, going to Sunday School, playing in our treehouse, playing jacks and hopscotch and swimming in our above ground pool. We all played musical instruments and were involved in school extracurricular activities.
We had close friends in our neighborhoods and in school. We always wanted the best for everyone - there was no evil like this situation in our lives. The only bad things we saw were on the news or on television. Nobody ‘dated’ - we might hold hands with someone at the skating rink during the slow skates with the lights down but our ‘relationships’ were only talking on the phone on the weekends.
What a horrible world this is now.
When I was in the 5th grade, I witnessed a “clasmate” try to stab a teacher with a pencil.
Looks like they are all girls. Wonder why the authors try to hide that fact?
I guess no pictures.
When I was in fifth grade we loved to play “Spin The Bottle”.
OMG. Did you transition at puberty? I did the same thing and have been in love with women all my years.
My grandchildren attend/attended a Legacy school in Maricopa. They’re both gifted and excelled there. When my grandson was in 6th grade and showing me his “yearbook,” he pointed out the kids in his class who were in same sex “relationships” or transsexuals. It was about 25% of his class, which was jarring to hear. There was a lot of drama at his school too, but I wouldn’t arrest kids over it unless the threat was credible.
I have a SA602 on my bench right now, trying to do the same thing. Hams, go!
“I was 10 years old when I was in the 5th grade and still playing with Barbie Dolls.”
I was studying hard and determined to pass that 5th grade test on all the states and their capital cities. The studying paid off! I aced it!
It’s scary that these children are so immersed in a violent environment that casually plotting to murder another student was acceptable to all involved (except the student who overheard their plans).
DANG!!
> ...the plan, which involved them luring him into the bathroom for a stabbing...
The authors also don't say whether it was the girls or boys bathroom. If the girls bathroom, he'd have to be instantly suspicious because he doesn't belong there, yet if it was the boys bathroom, the girls don't belong there either. It's pretty hard to imagine unisex bathrooms in 5th grade.
Let me guess: it’s them again, Yogi.
Obviously.
Most likely.
Fifth grade? Girls still had cooties when I was in fifth grade.
