Around here, because of a court order, if any error codes come up on the state EPA check, you cannot renew your plates!!!
And that can be a tough nut to crack.
PS, I have spent many years on rock and ice and been in a couple of small caves, and did not care for it.

A friend and serious car racer had a new Chevy (cannot recall the model), and in two months, the trans had to be replaced twice.
I always accused him of racing the car around town and taking out the trans, and he always denied it.
After less than a year, they packed the car for vacation, all in and the f’n thing will not go into reverse!
I have never ever seen him angry, a very easy going guy.
That day he CRACKED!
He drove straight to the dealer and chased the staff with a tire iron. They locked themselves in the washroom and called the cops.
A heavyweight from the dealership was able to calm him down a bit and promised him a brand-new loaner and the moon...
NO CHARGES WERE FILED.
He sold the car not long after.
A year or so later later we were out for dinner and a guy stopped by the table and said, “I bought a car from you” and his tale of woe.
It was determined that the back of the block had NOT been machined perpendicular to the crank, distorting the trans valve body.

Vehicle (computer on wheels) is a slave to the Manufacturer. Same for most computing devices used by civilians.
Most of that, involves Windows OS tech. training that is unaware of “outside the box.”
A lot of trouble is caused by using Wi-Fi connections somewhere between vehicle (and/or between the maintenance laptop computer used by the dealership) . . . and the wired network. Sometimes because, nobody will “run the 50 ft Ethernet cable from that network switch to the laptop over there, that is plugged into the truck’s system.”
2013 Tacoma here. I hate cars that scold me, and I miss the world where everything didn’t beep at you.

Wow. Great story! That took some highly skilled diagnosing!
We’re using metals now that make even metals from the 90s look like trash. Or engines today are built to such nice tolerances, with such great steel.
Put a manual behind it, there shouldn’t be a reason to bring it in. Oh, and a driver who can properly drive a manual.
But our gasoline back then was also different. If the same gas came back, our cars would get 80mpg and run forever.
I would never sell a car on EBay again.
The trailer crowd wanted almost a million photos it seemed to satisfy their requirements it seemed.
However I haven’t done any online car peddling in many years and forgot basic things so I had to relearn.
Video is what sold that car. The buyer said as much and people liked it in the ad. Besides it’s a big black car so there isn’t a ton of detail photo wise.
I hadn’t rolled any video of consequence in a couple of years due to lack of interest. That was the first real use of the Nikon P1000. I used a Go Pro 5 for the drivers POV.
A friend of mine is talking about letting his 65 Mustang go. Lost interest in it mostly.
If I get involved this time, at least experience will be up to date and can offer drone capabilities.
I would have used a drone then but I was the whole production crew. Even if I had a driver, the BWINE drone I had used some oddball frame rate that never rendered well.

I suggested he pick up a set, and we will change them after dinner.
He said not with these THREE-PIECE PLUGS!
AND THE PLUGS OFTEN COME APART! Leaving the lower section in the head!
The dealers want $600.00 if all of them come out OK, and $75 plus for any that do not come out...
A friend knew all about them and owned the tool to remove the lower section if stuck!

He recommended a long procedure to safely remove them.
Ten hours later, we had eight new plugs in. Most of the time was reading and re-reading to get it just right.

I go to work in a 2007 Chevy Express every day and its got 432,000 miles on her!! I got my money’s worth out of this one!! Bought it used 10 years ago for $1,500!! lol... only put about $1,500 into it for repairs. I havent bought a new new vehicle since 99...
Long time ago, but I only remember 2 speeds… slow and broke down.

My wife is mechanically inclined and was curious about the tune-up procedure way back when it was plugs, cap, rotor...
So I showed her how to do it, and she didn’t mention it for years?
Then she asked why her Accord didn’t need an annual tune-up.
A different system and the plugs last a very long time.
She then confessed that she had worried that I might have her do the tune-ups on our cars to ease my work and go read the paper.

Guessing they do NOT use salt on your roads in the winter to deice?
Even salt-free, that is a great run.
