I was on a cruise out of Galveston. Several women were in full burkas near the pools. You could only see their faces. The men had no problem with the almost naked women around the pool and it appeared that they enjoyed looking. I don’t think a black robe in intense heat is very smart. I thought it was odd to go on a cruise where you can’t enjoy anything. Kind of like going to a nightclub and not drinking or dancing.

No, I’m not in favor of bombing them for any reason. We have been screwing around in that place for 70 years and always making it worse. So based on that, our prior work in Iraq and Libya, and on our recent installation of Zelensky in Ukraine, and an ISIS man in Syria, I have zero confidence we will make things better there.

I think the Persians have a good chance of reclaiming Iran as a civil society. The Wahhabists, none at all. If the Saudi Royal Family can continue to contain them. and learn to live with a mon-extremist Iran, there may be hope for the region.
Once, at the airport, prior to 911, I saw a woman crossing the lobby of the airport at Sky Harbor dressed in a burqa, nothing of her showed. Her husband (I’m supposing) casually bopping along happily next to her He dressed in jeans and a soft plaid shirt, wearing a cowboy styled vest.
I have wondered about that for years, unable to erase that picture from my mind. 911 happened only two weeks later and I wondered, was she a spy? Was she enslaved? Who was that person, where did ‘they’ come from? What was going on there?
I have once seen someone in a full burqa in Costco. Very disturbing, like some monster roaming about through the crowd in that long dark costume covering every part of that person. Really, who knows what is under there?
Are they slaves sent to shop by their masters? Is this the life they choose because they have been raised this way or is there some sort of force involved, threat? It really bothers me when I see them.
