Padilla was pushed to the ground and handcuffed. It highlights a growing trend in the Trump administration
CNN ^ | 6/12/25 | Analysis by Aaron Blake

CNN - When the Trump Justice Department took the extraordinary step of arresting a local judge seven weeks ago, plenty feared what it could portend.

Milwaukee Judge Hannah Dugan’s case will play out in the weeks and months to come – she’s pleaded not guilty to obstructing the arrest of an undocumented immigrant – but arresting judges and public officials isn’t something to undertake lightly. Critics warned of the chilling effect it could lead to and the precedent it would set.

Virtually nothing in the past seven weeks will have tempered those fears.

The fervor to arrest public officials who run afoul of the Trump administration doesn’t appear to be going away.

Since Dugan’s arrest:

- The Justice Department has criminally charged a big-city mayor and a Democratic congresswoman.

- A Republican congressman floated arresting 100 more judges who ruled against President Donald Trump.

- Trump earlier this week floated arresting Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

- And on Thursday alone, a Republican congressman advocated criminally charging three Democratic governors, while Democratic Sen. Alex Padilla of California was handcuffed after interrupting a press conference from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. Some in the MAGA movement are now pushing for Padilla to be charged, though there’s no indication he will be.

Almost all of these situations involved officials on the opposite political side of Trump’s aggressive immigration crackdown.

More likely it means Trump is enforcing immigration laws and a babbling idiot can’t stop it.

A growing trend of Trump not treating politicians as anything more than citizens, which is how the Founding Fathers envisioned the country.

Something tells me that Aaron Blake probably didn’t care one bit that Carter Page was falsely accused or that hundreds of people were arrested and incarcerated for “parading” or that we just went through several years of Democrats dozing and swatting and abusing FISA and forging FISA docs to carry out raids on their pilitical opponents.

Frikken nonsense...... After two assassination attempts on Trump and Noem has had her share of threats, this guy barges in, in casual clothes and is taken down. Was he wearing his pin identifying him as member of the Senate? I thought all members of Congress/Senate had to do so. If not, was he wearing any kind of ID badge?

No, he just started popping off like a madman. It's a wonder he survived will all his teeth intact.

This idiot seems to believe that Democratic lawmakers and mayors and leftist judges are above the law. A few corrections to this ding dong’s assertions:

Milwaukee Judge Hannah Dugan…obstructed the arrest of an undocumented immigrant and tried to help him escape - that is called aiding and abetting.

- The Justice Department has criminally charged a big-city mayor and a Democratic congresswoman for assaulting law enforcement officers at an ICE detention facility.

- A Republican congressman floated arresting 100 more judges who ruled against President Donald Trump (Republican Congress members are by definition not part of the Trump administration.)

- Trump earlier this week floated arresting Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsome if Newsome violates the law.

- And on Thursday alone, a Republican congressman advocated criminally charging three Democratic governors (again, not in the executive branch with no powers to arrest) while Democratic Sen. Alex Padilla of California was handcuffed after threatening to assault interrupting a press conference from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

If I remember correctly, the judge that was arrested literally told the “migrant” how to evade and aided in it at the courthouse. How anyone could support that judge os beyond me.

MAGA and most independents supported the arrest of the judge.

Where a potential split in support may occur is over the potential arrest of “migrants” at churches and schools, as support for that conceot drops among indeoendents.

Lastly, instead of goimg to those places, I imagine there are plenty of hotels, and homes of the affluent employing them as maids, etc, where those arrests could be made.

How about the chilling effect that lawless judges have on our country.

For too long we have turned the other cheek.

Damn right it does. So act with some respect and decorum, not like whiney 2 year olds who don’t get their way. THAT’S the message it sends. Padilla deserved every bit of it. Maxine Waters should be next.

Yeah?
Democrats not only arrested President Trump and repeatedly indicted him on fake trumped up charges, they shot him and tried to assassinate him.
Compared to that, charging a judge who is on video openly assisting criminals to escape justice is nothing.
We need to charge more judges for their crimes.

Padilla barged in...refused to show identification...

That was her security detail that scooted him away.
