The Clouatres met in Palm Springs, where Adrian was serving in the Marine Corps. He served five years there before moving back home to Louisiana.

Aside from the fact that the crueler we are the crueler the democrats are going to be when it is their turn to round up us “Domestic Terrorists”. Trump is setting the rules of engagement and precedent here. Does anyone actually think this is not going to come back at us? Does anyone actually think they are immune to like kind retaliation from the Democrats?

I just appreciate those who serve our country

Musk served our Country for a few months and got his dealerships firebombed and many of his new cars destroyed because he wasn't elected... The ICE agents who make arrests are serving our Country, but not elected... How about the Marine we're discussing? Serving our Country? Yes! Elected? No! Would you like to move on to Judges for double or nothing?

she is married to a government employee.

Government employees should be above the law? Isn't that how we got into the mess that President Trump is trying to clean up?

“We don’t need low level discourse on Free Republic.”

But then how are they going to get their kicks? They like nothing better than to practice cruelty and sadism for enjoyment. It is great fun and entertainment!

I must confess that is an angle I had not considered. You have a point.

We need immigration reform, have for decades. I get that our low birthrate coupled with entitlements* means we need to import some folks. Instead of explaining that rationally to the American people long ago and increasing the rate of legal immigration, both for permanent residency and temporary work visas (the sane and humane thing to do), our “betters” in government opted for insane open borders.

Trump had four years to plan this. Why not start out with warning farmers (and other seasonal businesses in need of immigrant labor) there would be a short grace period to register their workers and get with the program while crafting reforms that would streamline deportation of criminals, gang members and illegal immigrants living here at taxpayer expense? Ramming the relevant legislation through Congress during his “honeymoon period” would have limited judges’ abilities to quash deportations and made the whole business go smoother — and by starting off with criminals and the ones lodged in expensive hotels, even bleeding heart libs would have had trouble coming up with sob stories and fomenting riots.

I’m perplexed as to why this wasn’t done, but maybe there are things I simply don’t understand.

*Sustainable SS and Medicare require a favorable ratio of workers paying in to retirees drawing out.

You make an extremely important point here. We just can’t have our cake and eat it too. Common sense balance and compromise are absolutely in order. Scorched Earth is just not going to be advantageous at all in the long run.

“This couple should be allowed to make the effort to get it right and get her citizenship.”

No never citizenship for anyone who broke into our home. EVER period full stop. They could give her a spousal visa to stay and eventually a green card as a permanent resident but never EVER citizenship for anyone who crossed our borders illegally this is not negotiable I don’t care if her husband was commandant of the damn Corps.

0311 and 0321, 11 years total service here. Those that know, know.

They got married after he left the service.
