Probably will get flamed here but the generation going on/on social security have largely been responsible for where we are now.
It is time to end all of the gimmicks and go to a flat tax with a single exclusion amount. Everyone pays 10% of income over and above x thousands dollars. Everyone has to have skin in the game and pay a share and all of the gaming of the system.
No flames here, just a correction. Progs put us where we are today, and later progs added to it. SS, Mcare/caid, great society with it’s welfare were brought to us by progs. Progs (and their useful idiots RINOs) voted in the huge plandemic funding that doubled up the current deficit/debt. Bottom line is progs did this and trying to blame a certain age group is flat out wrong. This country is where it is now because of Marxist thought and execution.
Actually it was mostly the Greatest Generation who became socialists and grew govt by leaps and bounds, but your point is well taken.
You did explain what you meant by a flat Tax, but please say a flat Tax RATE. Many people are so stupid about math that they can be convinced that a flat tax means that they and Bill Gates will pay the same amount of taxes. It is time to teach people the difference between a tax rate and a tax which means tax revenue.
