Brian Wilson has left behind a multi-million dollar legacy.
The former lead singer of The Beach Boys has passed away at the age of 82 after an ongoing battle with dementia.
Before facing health struggles, he created a net worth of $100 million, made primarily from his time with the 1961 rock band.
His net worth of $100 million could have been a lot higher if his father Murry hadn't sold the publishing company, Sea of Tunes, which controlled the rights of the majority of Brian's biggest hits. In 1969, he had made a deal with Irving Alamo Music for just $700,000.
Before he settled his legal disputes, a portion of his earnings were already being given to his psychologist Eugene Landy, who had a conservatorship over him.
In 1991, Eugene had claimed he was paid $430,000 a year since the time the singer entered the psychologist's intensive therapy program.
Allegedly, he also worked out a deal with The Beach Boys' attorney, which agreed to pay him 25% of any music Brian wrote in the future.

Brian would have been worth lots more if not for his bonehead father signing away his early song writer rights. He also got ripped off by shrink Eugene Landy, though it impossible that this Landy is still getting a 25% cut. I do not believe this can be true.
Bye bye Brian and thanks for immortal Beach Boys tunes. One of my favorites is “Don’t Worry Baby”. A tune that makes me reminisce back to where and when.
I wouldn’t be crying at $100 million though.
The movie “LOVE & MERCY” is an exceptional movie regarding the Beach Boys and Brian’s genius. You will not like the psychologist at all for the “genius” America was denied for 30 years!!
It is a great movie!!
His most recent conservators were chosen by his children after his wife’s death.
Murry Wilson was a POS.
his two daughters sing with granddaughter auditioning for American Idol. She was cut

I agree and I was ready to post the same thing. The history about him and his father and his health issues was a surprise to me. I must have seen it on TV as I don’t see movies elsewhere. Music that will never die....
Murry Wilson was a POS.
I agree.....he was a big contributor to his boys’ mental well-being IMHO!
That shrink was a vicious criminal who kept Brian as crazy as he could to keep the $ flowing.
Adding my recomendation of Love & Mercy as well. A great movie.
