I love Swiss, too. Aged Swiss, but it’s more expensive. Also smoked Gouda and Gruyere. I’ve been wanting to try Gruyere on a pizza instead of mozzarella. One of these days….

I haven’t been there, but my and a friend of hers drove up there about a month ago. I can’t remember what cheeses she came home with, but they were delicious. I was disappointed she didn’t bring some mustard home, too.

I just looked this up, I was curious:

Where did Monterey Jack get its name? Here's an interesting cheese
fact: a form of Monterey Jack cheese was first made by 18th-century
friars in Monterey, but it's named after David Jacks, a businessman
who was one of the first to widely sell and distribute the cheese in the late 1800s.

Now you know….

How could this not be one of the favorite days of the year?

In my fridge right now I have sliced cheddar and provolone and two types of “cheesy” salad dressings, blue cheese and feta - shredded we have mozarella and and jack.

Will be using the parmesan today for a balsamic chicken dish I’m making later.

Can’t have a salad without sliced hard boiled eggs - also like very thin slices of red onion.

Argument in family is whether to add celery or not - we put it on the side b/c 1/2 of us don’t like it, it overwhelms everything else. I tend to agree.

Have this every day, just as I did growing up. Family is very healthy - and we don’t drown salads in dressing.

Like my cheese to be sharp. Very disappointing when buying a sandwich or hero and the cheese is tasteless. Jimmy Johns, Jersey Mike’s and others. A quality cheese covers a multitude of cuisine sins.

Mr Fields was the bald headed landlord of Abbot and Costello. One scene showed him sprinkling cheese over his spaghetti proclaiming, ‘this cheese puts hair on your chest’. Then Costello takes a bunch in his hand and rubs it on Mr Fields head. LOL.
