If you live in a condo or busy neighborhood, there could be someone tapping into your bandwidth. Consider changing your router password. Also, I name my router “backup dialer modem” so that it might be ignored by the neighborhood or drive by hacker. 🤪
A guy near me named his FBI Unmarked Car
I did check into that issue few months ago, I can see you is logged on to my router with the http://192.168.1.1/ link. I changed passwords just to make sure. But the freezing behavior continued for 6 months. Now it has suddenly stopped. I did switch XFINITY internet plan in May. I signed up for a cheaper plan with one year contract. That could be the reason!
So I named it “DNR Wireless” and he made me change it again.
I then named it “Unobtrusive Van” and he told me I was not allowed to name things any more.
Great advice. The guy that helped me set up my network advised of using any inflammatory for my SSID (ex: BIDENSUX) and consider naming it after an internet ready device like a TV. I also created 30 character PWs for admin into my networking equipment & 20 character PWs to get into my guest accounts. Someone complains, tell them to use their phone data and not my wifi.
