Let’s say Russia takes over Ukraine (one of the most corrupt countries in the world)… then what? As long as Russia doesn’t go on an ethnic cleansing rampage (doubtful given their common ethnic origins), and honors the mineral agreement with the USA, why should we care?
“but he will take back as much if Ukraine as he wants.”
He wanted all of Ukraine. He planned a two-week war and now he is driving Russia broke.
He is still in power thanks to the state-controlled media.
Reasons to fear Russia conquering her neighbors, such as, I don't know, Ukraine?
Please tell me why we give a sh*t. If Togo invades Borkina Faso, would you be as outraged? Seriously, if t doesn’t impact our national interests, why should we give a sh*t?
How many times will we fall for the “WE HAVE TO SAVE HUMANITY” calls.
How many times will we fall for the “WE HAVE TO SAVE HUMANITY” calls.
How many times will we fall for the “WE HAVE TO SAVE HUMANITY” calls.
It is not worth one single dollar to save anyone not an American patriot and citizen.

Link please.
What about Belarus? Nations/Tribes get conquered all the time. Anything meaningful that Belarus has contributed to the world will stand the test of time. If, 100 years from now, no living human knows what Belarus was or what any Belarusian contributed to humanity, then that is what it is. Sorry, life is a bitch, then you marry one, then you die.
If you think about it, about the only reasons that the Leftists can give for Putin to want to take over Europe are:
1. They can read Putin’s mind (I keep asking them to put up some evidence of their claim - they cannot, so they must be reading his mind).
2. Putin is no different than Hitler
Hitler had stated reasons for trying to take over Europe and the Soviet Union (Master Race, “Living Space”) and he had obvious other reasons (Resources and the need for manpower). Putin has NONE of those concerns.
If it means putting one American at risk in that war or spending one more dollar there, guess which way most of us decide?
поцілуй мою дупу
Seriously? The Russians went on an ethnic cleansing rampage before, in Stalin’s time, there is no reason why they wouldn’t do it again, especially when they are still putting up statues honoring Joseph Stalin, and also statues of the founder of the notoriously evil Cheka/secret police..
Russia has no reason in the world to honor that mining deal
but otherwise, well.. we will see...
“Will you hold this position as Russian reconstitutes the USSR one country at a time?”
Why would they? They gave it all up in 1991. Why would they want all those troubles back? They could have easily taken Georgia and the rest of the Trans-Caucasus back in 2007, but they didn’t. Belarus and Kazakhstan are easy pushovers, why don’t they grab them? Because they’re not going to, that’s why.
Are you a neocon ? That would actually be a great thing for America. Let them also have Kazakhstan, Mongolia etc. Next China takes Taiwan, Japan and so on. Nothing better could happen.

Ethnic cleansing? Russia has repeatedly called for the deaths of all non-Russian speaking Ukrainians.
Russia was not part of the US-Ukraine mineral deal and in under no obligation to honor it, besides Russia never honors any agreement under any circumstances.
Once they have all or most of Ukraine, they will begin to take the Baltics, first by connecting Belarus to the Kalinningrad enclave thought the Suwauki Gap. Russia is already prepositioning its newest T-90M tanks, troops and equipment along the Finish border. Putoin is preparing to put the entire country on a permanent war footing, he has no choice ... for him its war or his death.
Poland and the Baltics are militarizing their borders that touch Russia or Belarus.
Why would Russia honor the mineral agreement? It is worthless because most of the stuff is not there.
Concerning the parts of Ukraine that are in dispute - I really don't care whether Crimea, Donbas, Zaporzhina (sp?) etc. stay as part of Ukraine or become Russian territory, de facto or de jure. And I don't understand the mindset of people who act as though Crimea and Donbas are America's 51st and 52nd state and lose sleep over this.
A couple of years ago, the Azerbaijanis ethnically cleansed Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh. I often ask people who get all worked up about war crimes against Ukrainians why they aren't similarly concerned about the well-being of Armenians and usually just get blank stares.
The answer to this question, of course, is that we hear about every Ukrainian civilian killed on the news while Armenians didn't get nearly the same hype.
