Makd that a million pounds of water...125,000 gallons. See, it’s getting easier.
At least it didn’t hit a bridge.
Find the poor soul in charge of that launch and get him a Snickers bar.
What was the blunder that caused it to sink?
I would think at launch. When sliding sideways into the water it tipped too much, flooding. I’ve always wondered why we don’t hear more sinkings launching this way. But I’m not a biologist....eeerrrrr...I mean scientist!
Did you hear about the North Korean Navy? They put it in the water.
An old polish joke.
Forgot to put the drain plug in?
Much like the Mary Rose did in front of Henry VIII. Expect some heads to roll in Korea as they did in England.
People are gonna die
Shouldn’t he commit some form of seppuku for bringing humiliation and shame to his family in public?
5,000 tons doesn’t seem very big for a warship. According to Wikipedia, 9700 tons is the average displacement for US Navy destroyers, which ae among the smallest of warships.
Rut-ro
A fully loaded Gearing class destroyer was about 3500 tons fully loaded. About 300 ft in length. Not a tiny ship but not large as ships go. A WW2 Battleship was about 45,000 tons.
The executive officers of the Chief contractor “Lee Key Boat Inc.” can not be located for comment.
Or the Vasa in Sweden, sank on the first voyage.
Why no pictures or video of the event?
Didn’t China or Iran have a similar failed ship launch recently ?
I can think of one way for officials being blamed to avoid “repercussions” (a 7.62 round to the back of the head in front of an open ditch). Put Kim in front of the ditch first. Would have to widen it for his bloated carcass to fit.
