Born and grew up then, the worst part of the 60's was LBJ.

Have fun and flame away.

I remember the ‘60s, so I must not have been there.

The 60’s are why everything is bad today.

I have no fond memories of the Sixties. None.

The death of President Kennedy shocked me to my core. It sort of marks the death of everything good. After the 1960s "Rock and Roll" became dark and dysfunctional, embracing the dark side. Race riots, The Great Society, Earl Warren Court, a dark ugly time. We as a nation have never recovered.

I keep trying to tell those who are ignorant of history that Biden and Obama were not the worst presidents in US history.

Lyndon Johnson was.

The Great Society and LBJ’s war. 2 major reasons why the 1960’s sucked only slightly less than the 1860’s.

Hemisfair in ‘68 was pretty neat.

Looking back on old archived footage and the political atmosphere of the time a case is built against the decade we all consider to be filled with dreams

LOL. Yep… the 60s pretty much sucked but for me there was one good part… a girl who allowed me to… well you know. But other than that, the 60s sucked! And I really agree with the poster who said LBJ sucked…. Because his hustle called the Great Society is still screwing up this country.

Born in the 50’s.

60’s were my “coming of age” playground.
Wonderful time for many reasons. No regrets.
Fantastic women, fantastic cars, fantastic music, fantastic business possibilities. Made to most of it all.

Political situation was another matter but certainly wasn’t my focus at that time.

Born in 66. But having studied immensely I firmly believe that Vatican II was the worst thing that happened in the 60s. Bar none.

I am a bit wary about a BBC documentary on the 1960s. Period documentaries often exaggerate what happened and especially exaggerate the role and importance of politics.

As one who grew up in the 1960s I sort of know how it was. Lots of societal changes but most people just went about their lives.

Warning.

This is a 6 part video series , each part about 9-10 minutes long.

It sees the 60’s from the British perspective, which IIRC, was much tamer than it was here.

There is little to like about the late 60’s and most of 70’s. They were not good times

The 60’s was the decade of the final collapse of all the european empires. Five hundred years of colonial empires came to an end.

That set of a civilizational freak out that continues to this day.

Though Trump is turning it around

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Overall I wished it had never happened. Especially being very impressionable during the Kennedy assassination. And then the floodgates opened wide and we’ll never go back to pre-sixty times.

Best years of my young life was the first 10 years I was born.(1946) I would not trade them for anything but I would not want to live them again.
Worst years was age 10-23. 1956-1970.
Then at the age of 24, things got much better when I met my wife. Still love her!

Born 1956, still remember LBJ saying something about ‘he would not send American boys 8 or 10 thousand miles away to fight a war that Asian boys should be fighting for themselves.’ And on the CBS Evening News with Walter Conkrite on Fridays he would tell me what the body count was on both sides.
