Ussa Polania was booked at Seminole County Jail on May 2 for charges related to petty theft with an estimated value between $100 and $750, according to Frances Matos in the booking department at Seminole County Jail and an arrest report from the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office
"This is un-American to try to force or coerce someone to get tired and voluntarily sign the death penalty, technically … she faces a horrible, horrible fate if she goes back to wherever she came from."
Filing a petition for writ of habeas corpus means Ussa Polania alleges her detention “goes against the Constitution, and for that reason, [she] should be released immediately,” said Nicole Whitaker, founder and managing attorney at Whitaker Legal, an immigration law firm in Maryland.
Whitaker and Diaz reviewed Ussa Polania’s filing, shared by Raw Story. Neither is representing Ussa Polania.
“In my opinion, she's not being treated fairly, but she's being treated just like everybody else is being treated, which is they don't care that she just had a child,” said Diaz, managing partner at Your Immigration Attorney. "Even then, the likelihood of success is very small.”
Ussa Polania is currently more than 100 miles away from Seminole County Jail in Sanford, Fla., where she was first held. Her last known whereabouts is now Pinellas County Jail in Clearwater, Fla, according to a database from the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office and and the online detainee locator system from ICE.
In her petition, Ussa Polania said she faces “imminent transfer to Texas.”

I think I saw in the article that she was from Columbia.

I met a woman who was going to Columbia for adventure travel and after she came back she said Columbia was still not a safe place.
However, being a young female in a second-tier country is not rare. It should not be a ticket into the USA.
We have guard-gated communities and restricted entry apartment buildings in the USA. They can build them in Columbia too.
I never liked to walk around Capitol Hill after dark. I would not walk around more than half of DC after dark.

15 years ago and before, the claim/justification was that illegal aliens are paying for our Social Security. Today they are a certified drain on our SS.
My bet is that many illegal aliens are getting SS disability monthly checks of a thousand or so. For sure the legal immigrants exploit this to the maximum. In these “communities”, how to mooch off state and Federal governments travels around like wildfire.

I think Wong set a minimum of a parent being a permitted legal resident for the US-born child to be a US citizen by being born in the USA.
Whether that will be limited by the Roberts court to permanent legal residents or any mom (or dad) with any sort of US government permission to reside in the USA I do not know.
Unfortunately years of zero enforcement leads to having to crack down and remove whoever you can get your hands on. This will ultimately lead to more self deportations because people will decide it is not worth the risk to stay here.

If she is here illegally, then she should be deported. If she wants to take her child she should be allowed to do so.
