Dad in family of 5 reveals price tag for 1 day at Disney World — and haters are shocked: ‘Outrageous’

Their wallets were in a Disney World of hurt.

A Florida father left online viewers speechless after revealing that he paid nearly $1,400 to take his family of five to Disney World for just one day. A video detailing the exorbitant price tag has amassed over 7.7 million views on X.

“Here’s what a day at Disney cost me for a family of five,” explained the unnamed patriarch, who documented the price of tickets, parking, meals and snacks, along with items at the souvenir shops.

Before even embarking on the money-hemorrhaging adventure, the dad reportedly shelled out $30 for all-day parking at the attraction, which is located 20 minutes southwest of Orlando by car. The total cost of tickets for the quintet, including a child under 10, clocked in at an eye-popping $974 — approximately the cost of a round-trip flight from New York to Rome.

Snacks also took a big bite out of the fam’s finances. After their first ride, they bought two water bottles and three ice creams, which set them back $29.50. Meanwhile, a pretzel for the kids and a beer for the dad cost another $19.

After lunch, the family visited the Star Wars: Galaxy Edge park, where they dropped an astronomical amount on various cash-in products.

These included a “Star Wars”-themed Coca-Cola ($6.50), a churro, margarita and water ($36), and some special blue milk ($10.29) that first appeared in “Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope,” bringing their snack expense total to a shocking $101.29.

And that’s the “economy” tour.

Ah yes.....the E ticket rides.

I suspect many won’t know what that is.

I’m glad I experienced DW back in the 70s as a kid.

Even living just 2 hours from there, I wouldn’t go now if was an all expenses paid trip.

I get it, Disney parks aren’t as bad as some amusement parks, and it’s supposed to be for the kids, not the adults, but I never understood the appeal of spending your whole day queuing in line, let alone paying good money for it.
Even when I was a kid I didn’t have much patience for it.
Then I remember we went to eat lunch and actually had to queue in line for almost a half hour just to get seated. How is that fun?

As my next door neighbor said when they got back...

“They should call it Disney HELL!”.

And that was back in the 80’s.

Partly their fault, they drove down and instead of checking in to their motel, they went straight to the park...

I can remember when E tickets were 90 cents.

I just renewed my pass: $900 for the year, excluding Thanksgiving & Christmas.

Cheaper than taking the kids skiing at Park City or such. $354/pp for a lift ticket alone.

Disney should be expensive. All amusement parks, really.

High prices = smaller crowds = less cultural enrichment = shorter lines for the rides = an overall more enjoyable experience for those who can afford to go.

Imagine if it only costed $20 for an all day pass to an amusement park? How bad would that suck?

Keep raising those ticket prices!

Yes I remember back in the 60’s sunny warm days doing picnics and BBQ grilling out at state parks as kids. We would throw the frisbees around or fly kites play some ball, etc… Then there was the cold watermelons (seeded) to bite into. Could paddle in the lake if one was available. Low cost good fun outings.

We learned long ago how to visit Disney World, if you must.

Wear loose clothing, It’s HOT AND HUMID IN FLORIDA!

Leave the car at the hotel. Most have shuttles that will take you to DW, and save you the parking fee.

Go early, be there when the gates open, when the temperature is cooler and the crowd is thinner, so the waits are shorter.

Eat BEFORE YOU GO! BIG BREAKFAST, LOTS OF CARBS! Hello Waffle House! That will take you through the day and you can do more things beside eating expensive junk food at the park.

Do the most popular rides first!

Map out your attack plan and get the most bang for your bucks! Know where each ride you want to go on is and stick with The Plan!

Leave the souvenirs until you are ready to leave, that way you won’t have to carry them around and possibly lose them off a ride!

Exactly the same reason tickets to pro sporting events are so expensive.

Last nfl game my wife and I went to, all in I dropped $200....and that was 20 years ago.

I wouldn’t give the nfl a dime of my money now for a lot of reasons.....the cost is certainly one.
