A former top advisor to ex-Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., suggested House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., is not meeting the moment in the current Trump era.
“Trump is just giving us all this incredible red meat. I mean, I’ve never seen anything like this before. It’s like the biggest gift any party has been given by the opposition, and we’re just squandering it, to a degree,” former Pelosi advisor Ashley Etienne told Politico’s Deep Dive podcast.
Etienne helped Pelosi oversee Democrats’ messaging during President Donald Trump’s first impeachment. She also previously worked for former Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign.
She said Jeffries was “doing well” in many areas and said she had “a tremendous amount of respect” for the New York Democrat but signaled that he was missing opportunities on anti-Trump messaging.
“He gave a speech this morning. I don’t have any talking points in my phone about what he said. And I’m going to be doing TV and this interview all day. That’s a failure,” Etienne said.
“How do you get to discipline if you’re not telling people what the hell you want them to say? At least emphatically, at least tonally.”
Jeffries’ allies pushed back against that characterization, pointing out that intraparty friction was taking attention away from Trump’s low poll numbers and Republicans’ policies.
“Donald Trump’s approval ratings are plummeting, and he’s bringing House Republicans down with him. Extreme MAGA Republicans have been forced to delay their plans to advance Trump’s centerpiece legislative priority due to intense backlash against their scheme to enact the largest cuts in history to Medicaid and food assistance. Let’s keep the main thing, the main thing,” Jeffries spokesperson Christiana Stephenson told Fox News Digital.

Obviously she knows she is not in control anymore but imho it is apparent her deep seated contempt and hatred for Pres Trump are still in her heart. Its a shame, really, and looking back to the past on the infamous clip of her voicing her opinion on China and US policy ( its out there)you will see someone entirely diff from the Nanny of today.
What she became is a flip- flopper- a unprincipled individual who went along with any idea or proposed policy or rule of law that was beneficial to her only.Along the way she played this cruel and dirty game she learned the art of “ the smear” and orchestrating events in the bac kground to other peoples detriments & tactics to propel herself to heights of power. She had access to information that benefitted her financially & im sure you know that story.It was never about her constiuents, it was about her, the power & the greed.
Today she speaks thru a ex- aid still criticizing and castigating Pres Trump in any way possible. At one point she even raised her fist ,a bony and wrinkled one at that saying she will punch Pres Trump.
Her hatred towards Pres Trump knows no bounds knows no bounds.
She doesnt like the little people either; the everyday ordinary American,and continually has stated her motto - “ its for the children”

Does she not want America to be the best it can be under Pres Trump? Does she not see the work others are doing to make America Zgreat again?, for uss to be number one?
Does she not see that AzLl Americans deserve to live and proper under laws and policies that create security and prosperity for all and to live freely

The Trump campaign and Elon musk have destroyed the Democratic party’s command and control. Elon purchased Twitter and made it a free speech X. Trump got Bezos to stop the orders coming from the Washington Post. The New York Times self emolated with its crazy wokeness.

Pointing the finger at Jefferies is only part of the Dems’ problems. A party that would put a spoiled brat like David Hogg in the second-most important admin position in the party structure, touts an airhead like AOC as the rising star of the party for 2028, sees Jasmine Crockett as a viable voice for the party, and thinks the American public supports secret puberty blockers for 5 year olds, has problems that extend far beyond Jefferies.
Their people can’t engage in a true discussion, and people are seeing it. Meanwhile Trump regular engages with presstitutes and slaps them around verbally, is very much on the ball.
