- "The Long Island lawyer first sought to join the Navy in 2018." -

Considering the wash out rate for Navy Seal training is typically 70% to 80%, I suspect litigation was her whole plan all along.

41 year old woman wants to be a navy seal. Christ. Some super fit strong 25 year old male warriors. Best of the best. They can’t do it. But she can? Joke.

From the article ---- "...claimed she was 'sworn into' the Navy in Brooklyn in 2018 but 'was never assigned anywhere or deployed'.”

Easy to validate. Enlistment record and eventual DOD 214.

If the Navy had " 'no record of service; for her," and she has none to show, she must be one dumb female.

Didn't go to Navy boot nor Officer Training in 2018? 2019? Sat around waiting for the phone to ring? Sat around waiting for orders by mail? Didn't ask THEN? Waited until now?

"...revisited her enlistment in 2020?" This is a very poorly written piece, with pertinent questions avoided. The almost 500 comments generally agree. Ambulance-chasing, in another costume.

Reading the entire article is very strange…claiming she was “ sworn into” the Navy in 2018? Her DUI didn’t help to pad her resume.

How could a woman that age pass or have passed the crushing SEAL week physical demands?

Sounds looney. She is bouncing all over both physically and mentally.

“It was never really about me being a female SEAL,”

“I hope to serve as this country’s first female Navy SEAL Officer, so that there may be a second, and a third, and an infinitesimal many more female candidates who might impress upon you these shared values in the very same way,” she wrote.

Working lawyer hours = physical fitness weekend warrior, at best. Thinking she could do it at + 40 years of age is Delusional.

Tort reform would fix this. The defense Department should sue her back for wasting their time.

The wash out rate varies to a degree depending on if they need graduates or not, some would pass at times but are washed out when there aren’t openings.

She's a bit long in the tooth to be a Navy Seal, anyway.

Too bad the same crowd that forced the Army to give Ranger tabs to older women is gone from the White House now. Based on merit, not one of these women in Ranger or SEAL training would have the slightest chance of success.

A number of years ago a close friend's son wanted to enlist in, I think, the special forces.

The kid worked his butt off all summer to get in shape. Swimming, running and long hikes with a loaded back pak.

When he finally went in for his physical, he was rejected because they discovered that he had lasik surgery to correct his eyesight.

The NAVY has the most particular selection process for non ROTC/Academy officers than any other service. It happens. But they are really picky.

At 42 they have tons of candidates from which to choose. They will cut you for the smallest things.

SEAL training is even MORE picky. She would have had to be in the fleet for three years before getting into BUDS. At 45? That’s not going to happen.

The US Navy officials failed to advance Amanda S. Reynolds’ application, then told her in the fall that she would no longer qualify for Naval Officer Training Command in Newport, RI, because she’d be over the age limit of 42 by the time she graduated, according to court papers.

Forty-something woman wants to go to SEAL school? It's laughable on its face. Even if she is a world-class athlete in some category it would still be nigh impossible.

I have a nephew who wrestles at the D-I NCAA level. He is an incredible athlete and and his dream is the SEALS after university. But he knows as does everyone else it will still be a world-class grind.

This woman is mental. She has no business or intention of going through SEAL training.
