According to a statement released by the Max Planck Institute of Geoanthropology, researchers have found evidence that hunter-gatherers from mainland Europe traveled to Malta around 1,000 years earlier than previously believed. Archaeologists recovered stone tools, hearths, and food waste at a cave site in Latnija that indicated humans have been living on the island for 8,500 years. This means that they arrived there even before the widespread adoption of agriculture, which contradicts long-held assumptions. Experts theorize that they made the journey in simple dugout canoes, making this new discovery the oldest evidence of long-distance seafaring in the Mediterranean prior to the invention of boats with sails. The voyagers would have relied on surface currents to cross about 60 miles of open sea. At a top speed of 2.5 miles an hour, this would have forced the intrepid seafarers to endure several hours of darkness on their journey. "The results add a thousand years to Maltese prehistory and force a re-evaluation of the seafaring abilities of Europe's last hunter-gatherers, as well as their connections and ecosystem impacts," said Max Planck archaeological scientist Eleanor Scerri.

I was there in 1968. Does that qualify? ๐๐
Had they have brought falcons we would have known earlier.
Nod to Dashiel Hammet.

What time was their reservation? Did they still get seated?
That movie was on yesterday.
Probably got there before it was an island.
Also, how do the experts put a date on the invention of boats with sails?
I thought the Ancient Aliens S19.E10 on The Giants of Malta
Episode (Mar 17, 2023) was pleasant. Beautiful area of the world with blue skies and blue water.
Actually created more questions and mysteries than were solved with their questions again and again such as “could this be evidence of earlier human habitation than traditional archaeologists believe and possible interaction with otherworldly beings?”
But that great narrator Robert Clotworthy would say it as “other-WORLDLY-beings.” And the big hair guy Giorgio Tsoukalos would say “exta-ta-estials”.
Gotta ask Mrs rktman.
Another coincidence.
I am obligated to believe what the Bible says about creation, though I believe there is a gap between when the earth and the heavens ( not THE Heaven) were formed and when God started creating flora and fauna on earth. I mean, there had to have been a cool down period. As far as vegetation being available for animals and mankind, if God can turn water into wine and multiply loaves and fishes, then He can cause plants to spring forth and grow overnight. And since we are created in God’s image, we are a separate creation from apes and were not descended from animals.
I hate it when the guests arrive early!
Of course it was already an island.
I binge-stream that (for free, it’s on one of the streaming channels) once in a while, it’s entertaining, which is more than I can say for most TV series. :^)
I believe in John Roberts’s case it was pretty much just as soon as he was sworn in.
