Montana – Deep in Montana’s remote wilderness lies the Sage Wall, a stunning megalithic structure composed of massive granite blocks intricately stacked in a straight line extending 275 feet (84 meters). Reaching up to 25 feet (8 meters) high, with some blocks weighing 91 tons, it is believed that the wall continues an additional 15 feet underground. This unique formation appears to have precise, interlocking stones resembling ancient masonry found worldwide.
Despite its remarkable features, the Sage Wall remained hidden for centuries, covered by dense foliage on private land owned by Christopher Borton and Linda Welsh. Its discovery occurred when the landowners cleared their heavily forested property, revealing the wall and sparking scientific interest. The site drew comparisons to megalithic structures in Peru, Egypt, and other regions due to its angular formations and mysterious knobs on the stones, which are common in ancient constructions globally.
The wall’s construction raises numerous questions about the people who built it. The precision and scale of the stonework indicate a deep understanding of mathematics and astronomy, leading some experts to speculate that the Sage Wall might have served multiple purposes. It could have been a ceremonial site, a defensive structure, or even an astronomical observatory designed to track celestial events. The alignment of certain stones with solstices and equinoxes supports the latter theory, hinting at a complex understanding of the cosmos by its builders.
The discovery of the Sage Wall is challenging the conventional timeline of human activity and architectural development in the region. Previously, such advanced construction techniques were not believed to exist in North America during this period. This site could potentially lead to a reevaluation of the technological and cultural advancements of prehistoric civilizations on the continent, offering a new perspective on the ingenuity and sophistication of ancient peoples.
Michael Collins, from the YouTube channel Wandering Wolf, and Dr. Samir Osmanagich, known for his work on the Bosnian Pyramid, have studied the site. They noted the wall’s magnetic properties and its alignment with the winter solstice, suggesting it might be man-made and predating the last Ice Age. However, some experts argue it is a natural formation resulting from volcanic and tectonic activities. Regardless of its origins, the Sage Wall remains a fascinating site, inviting further exploration and study.
But the wall in the above pics, which have no caption, only vaguely reaembles the wall at the link given for tours of it.
Im not saying we are being spoofed. I’m just saying i need a lot more information.

see for yourself.
The most interesting wall in the world seems to run around the world as if the inhabitants had split the earth into two hemispheres in order to keep the peace between themselves.
It should be relatively simple to tell if its man made or not. If the magnetic particles in the blocks face one direction, it is a natural structure. If they are oriented in different directions, its man made.
2 separate classes IMHO... the pic for the article is man made. all the others are natural rock formations. some on here are saying theyre the same. i disagree...
Cooling. The edges cooled first when exposed to air (or lower temperature molten rock), and hardened more than the softer molten rock, which caused the edges to break away.
They haven't been able to show them to be unnatural either.
then how come all the images shown from the 30 linked to, not including the 2 main pics and the article source, why do none of those 30 pictures show beveled miters like the source pictures do if they are natural?
Some rock gets pushed outward sideways. The beveling likely occurred before the stones were forced outward from the lava, cooling against earth and other stone, instead of cooling faster in the open air.
I would be interesting to see what’s under the ground that went along and away from the wall. The wall, whether exposed to air or earth, likely formed a semi-solid edge that directed the molten rock behind it to flow along it as well as in the other direction.
That molten rock that was behind the wall would have pushed the blocks out to different lengths depending on the pressure behind each block and the friction with neighboring, still-cooling, blocks.
What do you think of Nachoman’s magnetic alighnment test?
Since I was writing from memory, I hope my aging brain didn’t impose any serious errors. I was basing this off an episode of “America Unearthed” starring Scott Wolter. He used this method to determine if the the “rock wall” for which Rockwall, Texas is named is man made or not. I hope our esteemed geologists on FR will provide any necessary corrections.
Mother Nature does many strange things. And she owes no explinations. Obviously not man made.
I think that’s how they proved the Rockwall, Texas wall was natural..
It would be interesting to see when the stones solidified enough to retain magnetic polarity; were they pushed upwards in a semi-molten state before toppling and moving sideways, or did they solidify enough when moving sideways?
I don't picture them cascading like logs down a river before getting stacked against the earth, but who knows?
Maybe something in the 1800s built by Mormons for some reason?
Humm. Back further.... "There were giants in those days....."
Grizzly bears, Saber Toothed Tigers, and Woolly Mammoths still lived. Good to have Fortress to stay in at night? An ancient Riesenheim?
Maybe they herded Mammoths or mastadons and needed a Fold, a livestock compound? (Fanciful...unlikely Just having fun. )
If they are serious about looking into this they need to start excavating the site to see what they can find. Unless something is found Its pretty much just speculation.
Well, sage wall looks like stonework to me. I do not look down on the people who came before us as incapable of doing large stonework, but it would be neccessary (as several have stated above) to do some excavation for additional information. Discarded Iron tools? Broken Pottery from the Stone masons? Bones telling us what they ate? Skeletons from the people who lived and died on the site?
I think that there was also stonework high in the Andies looking down at the Amazon basin about which we know nothing.
I’m more interested in that he could move and position blocks of those sizes by himself, with only ancient techniques available to him. It also suggests, possibly, that that the number that built the pyramids may not have been as numerous as we have been led to believe or perhaps they were built quicker than it was thought.
There’s a 45 minute walk-thru video of someone walking the trail to the wall. Interesting stuff - looks man-made to me, but what do I know?
