Low-fat dairy or fortified soy alternatives Vegetable oils in place of saturated fats
Plant-based proteins as the primary source of protein
Nope. Wrong.
Ultra-processed foods are still a gray area One of the most discussed topics in nutrition today — ultra-processed foods — was also examined in the DGAC report. Ultra-processed foods are industrially formulated products that are not typically found in home kitchens, often containing ingredients such as artificial additives, stabilizers, emulsifiers, and preservatives.
The heck it's a *grey area*. They're terrible for you and should not be recommended as part of ANYONE'S diet.
Period.

But the ingredients are not usually.
Read it again. That’s what they said.

My complaint is about all the salt they throw in soups. So here’s an idea. Lay off on the salt, soup manufacturers. And put “salt to taste” on the label.
I thought about applying for a big federal grant to study this. But given how cranky DOGE is, I’d probably be turned down.

That’s another thing. These charts imply one diet fits all. I don’t think that’s true.

I still don't see it - the article doesn't say that the ingredients aren't found in homes; it says Ultra-processed foods are industrially formulated products are not typically found in homes. And then it goes on to list foods.

Ultra-processed foods are industrially formulated products that are not typically found in home kitchens, often containing ingredients such as artificial additives, stabilizers, emulsifiers, and preservatives. Examples of ultra-processed foods include: Not *homes*. *Kitchens* and normal people who don't always try to pot stir know what was meant.

This is from the Biden administration. I doubt it will be embraced by this one.

That may be what they meant; but I think it’s poor writing.

Beans, peas, and lentils …. And, they have been complaining about cow farts. Just wait and see what the consequences are of a bean heavy diet.
