I died on the operating table... I saw what happens after death
Daily Mail ^ | March 26 | By ELLEN COUGHLAN FOR MAILONLINE

A woman claimed that she died on the operating table during brain surgery and watched surgeons as they drilled through her skull from above her body.

Pam Reynolds Lowery, from Atlanta, Georgia, who passed away in 2010, previously revealed that she had a near-death experience during a brain operation performed by Robert F. Spetzler at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona in 1991.

Pam, who was 35 at the time, reported a series of incredible experiences while she was technically 'dead', including meeting relatives who had passed away and not wanting to return to her own body.

Later I wondered about trying to get into my friends’ dreams. A lot of times you dream that friends, relatives or pets come back to you say they are okay now.

A woman from Israel, a Jew, told me she has dreams like that.

While in ICU I was on the other side of the dream.

I didn’t plan it that way I just put 2+2 together later on.

There’s some reason every civilization has a religious belief.

The materialist, just so explanation for NDEs is not provable, while NDEs often provide proof in the form of unknown but later verified information. If NDEs are the body and brain fighting furiously, it seems that the point of the effort is to offer proof of life after death.

Not all spirits lie, and there are many examples of good spirits in the Bible. After all, angels are spirits. There are times in the Bible and elsewhere when spirits protect against harm and save lives.

As for mediums, caution and skepticism are always in order, but to give one good example, there is a medium in Long Island named George Anderson who have submitted to testing and conducts regular public sessions in a way that makes fraud virtually impossible. Unusually, Anderson is also a devout Catholic and has the approval of the local diocese.

There is also an organization that tests and credentials mediums based on a rigorous test protocol. More broadly, the phenomena of NDEs and past life regressions is consistent with out of body experiences (OBEs). Extensive study has given them a credibility that is hard to dispute.

Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Luke 16:25-26

25 But Abraham answered, ‘Child, remember that during your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things. But now he is comforted here, while you are in agony.
26 And besides all this, a great chasm has been fixed between us and you, so that even those who wish cannot cross from here to you, nor can anyone cross from there to us.’

probably 4 or 5 years old, I remember having a "dream" where I was floating in my bedroom near the ceiling and could see myself in the bed down below. I slowly floated down towards my body on the bed and then I "woke up".

Children can die from sleep apnea, or lack of oxygen from suffocating themselves, either from nasal congestion, or from being deep asleep in a position that doesn't allow enough breathing. So it's possible you almost turned your own lights out. What position was your body in when you floated above and saw it—face up or face down?

...No wonder I learned to play the accordion instead of guitar.

I'm not following your reasoning here -- can you explain further? Was it the sleepwalking or your mom's response that affected your choice, or something about the sounds of the instruments?

She had been sick for some time and something that night caused him to wake up and go check on her. When he went to her room, he said he saw an angel above her taking her soul.

How beautiful. No words can express...

Often when you are under anesthesia you are more aware of stuff than you realize. The drugs will cause memory loss. If you are not reacting properly to the drugs, you could wake up during the process. Everyone is different. Being aware during a surgery is probably the least convincing part of this discussion.

It’s the experiences of the folks who go through this without being sedated that are interesting.

In the end, we are ALL going to find out. Religion uses the afterlife to retain control over their flocks. But people were dying long before religions were invented. I cannot believe that any reasonable creator would dismiss their lives and souls because they did not “hear and hasten” to the word of the religion of the day.

One depressing thing, to me, is that a theory says people just imagine the afterlife according to what they were taught. Instead of Jesus, the Hindus apparently see their religion’s figures for example.

Can both things be true? Jesus said that he went to prepare a place for us, and that heaven has "many mansions" (John 14:2-6). Could Hindus or others who have never heard of Jesus see their own relatives and even lesser dieties if they have lived righteously according to their sincere beliefs, but not see our God? The Bible also speaks of unequal fates in the afterlife.

PS — I’m so sorry about your loss of Joy, in both senses of the word. God bless you.

[book] child who was clinically dead but revived. He said he was in Heaven and saw loved ones including a sister he described and named.

Here it is:

The way to go see you love who died is to believe in Jesus Christ. THAT is the only way to heaven, the only heaven there is. It is either heaven or hell, on third place. Choose Jesus Christ and live forever with Him. Now yes some say there are other ways to heaven. WRONG! HE said that HE is the ONLY way to heaven. End of discussion. Period!! No other discussion. Believe and if your dear sweet wife was a Believer in Christ, you will join her there forever. Simple as that. Good luck.

Me either. I was wounded in Nam. Never saw heaven. And I was and remain a believer in Jesus Christ. So, I just knew if I died, where I would end up, in heaven with Him.

Back in the mid 90s my wife and I attended a church in Cheyenne, Wyoming. I became friends with some EMTs/Paramedics who also attended. They told me some stories about people in the ambulance who were absolutely terrified as they were dying. I’ll never forget one story about a man who died with a look of sheer terror on his face and in his eyes. Very unsettling, to say the least. It’s so strange how people will deny, deny, deny Jesus until it’s too late.

What self-respecting mother, albeit a Sicilian, would allow her son to take up the accordion?

Why a mother who didn't calm a feverish, terrified, sleepwalking pre-school child...that's who!! LOL!

“The brain is constantly active which is why we dream when we are sleeping.”

Not to put too fine a point on your post, Sam, but you may have mixed up cause and effect. IMHO, it would be more correct to say, “Because parts of the brain are constantly active, we can experience dreams when we are asleep.”
