That’s a shame.
Hard to believe 18 million people actually watched it.
But they feel good about themselves, right? That is all that matters to them.
This was a year of some pretty crappy movies. The quality of content has gone down a lot.
I wouldn’t care what bad movie gets an award.
The Oscars are in a death-spiral. No one cares about the movies Hollywood produces, no one cares about the awards they get.
So studding and brave the way they always give Oscars to the least popular movies.
Interesting. 1998 was the last year I ever watched the Oscars.
Must be a typo since going from 3.92 to 3.92 isn't exactly up 3%. Like Barbie said math is hard.
The film industry is so afraid that it even ran an ad for Cinemastreamers during the Oscars. This company streams movies in buildings that seat hundreds of people. The screen is completely automated and requires no interactive controls. You can even buy snacks like popcorn and soft drinks while streaming.
It’s a novel idea, but the problem is that it costs a family close to $100 to go to a Cinemastreamer building. Also, you can only view one stream at a time and can’t flip selections until you find something worth watching. I don’t think it will survive as a product.
Some of the most evil people on the planet who have to preach to you.
Modern movies are boring.
I went to the movies 2 Sundays ago, to see Becoming Led Zeppelin, at an IMAX format theater.
I went with 2 younger siblings so the outing was rewarding, in and of itself, for the family aspect alone.
Having said that, the movie was entertaining and worth the effort.
The commercials, pre-movie / pre-previews, while expected, were in number so large as to be disdaining.
Now, for the previews which were expected, and likely to be repulsive, seeing how Hollywood is a sewer today, I was not disappointed.
After watching all of them, numbering about a dozen, there was not a single one of them that appealed to me.
Most, and no surprise here, bore the DEI messaging.
Some were intolerably nauseating by the prolific use of special effects, or CGI.
Others carried the DEI message in such prominence, to the degree that one had to question what was the plot of the film.
And... for that reason, I’m OUT!
Good riddance Hollywood.
Your doo doo is weak.
Do not want.
Off the mark.
Out of touch.
Hit the road.
Don’t come back.
You suck ... fill in the blank!
Complete failure to know your audience.
DIE DEI DIE!
At least 7 past films in 10 years had gay/transgender characters

A bunch of America haters giving awards to movies no one has ever heard of. It’s just politics and theater within their own communist bubble.
The chart is interesting, it shows how American interest in Hollywood trash is declining. A chart showing interest in MSM fake news would likely parallel this chart.
