As the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, I am deeply concerned about the recent measles outbreak. This situation has escalated rapidly, with the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) reporting 146 confirmed cases since late January 2025, primarily in the South Plains region. Tragically, this outbreak has claimed the life of a school-aged child, the first measles-related fatality in the United States in over a decade.
Measles is a highly contagious respiratory illness with certain health risks, especially to unvaccinated individuals. The virus spreads through direct contact with infectious droplets when an infected person breathes, coughs, or sneezes. Early symptoms include high fever, cough, runny nose, and red, watery eyes, followed by a characteristic body rash. Most cases are mild, but rare complications can be severe, including pneumonia, blindness, and encephalitis. Prior to the introduction of the vaccine in the 1960s, virtually every child in the United States contracted measles. For example, in the United States, from 1953 to 1962, on average there were 530,217 confirmed cases and 440 deaths, a case fatality rate of 1 in 1,205 cases.
The current Texas outbreak has predominantly affected children, with 116 of the 146 cases occurring in individuals under 18 years of age.

Sounds like the US deep-state and Democrats are going to attempt another “public health crisis” to shift their narrative.
Measles is even scarier than Covid!!
The cases are reported to be in a Mennonite community (they do not vaccinate, but I believe they also do not send children to public schools and mostly keep to themselves).
SO, the question is, how was that community infected? In the US, we have pretty much eradicated (or have herd immunity for) measles. They need to trace back to an (unvaccinated) carrier who had contact with that insular community. Where would the most likely cross vector be? Food Pantry? Farmer’s Market?
(and yes, I agree that it is probably a “newcomer” i.e., an illegal immigrant)
“how many of all cases besides death got the measles more than once ?”
Zero.
Unlike chicken pox, measles creates an immunity to contracting it a second time.
I had it and survived. I had a childhood friend who got it and is now deaf. The side effects can be horrendous
Yes your immune system knows how to fight it

"We have some big-picture stuff coming down the pike starting on January 21st."
Please give a rational explanation of what he meant.
He lists a whole bunch of viruses if you continue listening to the clip.
“Yes your immune system knows how to fight it”
What does that even mean?
The hundrds who died annually before the measles vaccine had immune systems too yet died of it. And the post just before yours mentions a friend who lost his hearing to it.
Not even close
I’m glad your podiatrist is so exceptional.
People make choices not to get vaccinated.
I’m all for choice. With choices come responsibilities.
If people get measles, it’s hoped that they did their due diligence on to get vaccinated or not.
But it’s their choice and they own that choice.
Their crimes didn't start with the COVID-1984 Scamdemic, their crimes were just made obvious. They've been committing these crimes for decades.
He says virtually every child contracted it prior to the vaccine - that’s 10s of millions annually, with 440 confirmed fatalities.
What is missing from that statement but inferred, is the fact that prior to the vaccine, hardly anyone went to the doctor for measles - that included me (born 1952) and my contemporaries.. getting measles was a normal thing.. parents and town doctors knew it was highly contagious - and then you were immune for life.
What they did was have “measles parties” so everyone’s kids would purposely catch it at once - on the advice of family doctors - more controlled that way - exactly like getting a vaccine. You could say it WAS a vaccine except Big Pharma didn’t exist yet to exploit it.
Anyway - the big takeaway from this RFK statement (besides the obvious connection to the border) is that he is pro vaccine when it comes to measles - so all the Democrats who calmed him anti-vax are now proven liars.
Just further proof that this is all coordinated by the pharmaceutical hydra. Drive them out of the shadows and end this...with extreme prejudice.
This measles outbreak in all likelihood came from unvaccinated illegals. Sadly some parents also didn’t get their kids vaccinated since measles had been nearly eliminated in this country.
Immigration is our strength. Mrasles is our strength. Diversity.
i have no problem if there is an epic outbreak and kill every one of them. the feds better not send any money there to save any of them.
Yes, we all old farts survived it. And, even according to Government experts?!?!? we cannot get it again.
There is great historical track record on measles.
Measles used to be the most common child disease. At that time, everybody got it (they are the most contagious disease known to men) and nobody ever got it again!
What they are worried, is that the early vaccines did not work too well (do we know that with other vaccines!), so those people are asked to re-vaccinate.
As for the death - for what I deduct, people of European descent are pretty safe, as measles lingered there for a long while.
People who die from measles are mostly of Hawaii and American native descent who never encountered measles before encounter with the Europeans.
Measles were huge killer in Hawaii after James Cook visited it!
I think it is quite a coincidence that this measles outbreak is happening just weeks after RFK Jr. became director of HHS. What better way to discredit him and Trump than to infect a religious group who does not believe in vaccinations?
