Legendary Hollywood actor Gene Hackman has been found dead in his Santa Fe, New Mexico home alongside his wife, classical pianist Betsy Arakawa, according to the Santa Fe New Mexican, citing police.

Santa Fe County police discovered the body of the two-time Oscar winner, 95, and 63-year-old Arakawa — his wife of 34 years — and their dog on Wednesday afternoon.

Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza confirmed the news on Thursday, saying no foul play is suspected.

I think his Japanese wife did it. She was 30 years younger

My gut says suicide. They had a recent picture of him and his wife. Yeh...I can see that as a possibility. No CO detector??

I’m really hoping it was carbon monoxide, and not the wife having an aneurysm or heart attack, leaving Gene unable to take care of himself. They were a bit reclusive, weren’t they?

Santa Fe is chilly because the elevation is 7,000 feet.

Lots of tourists there struggle because they forget or don’t account for how high the place is.

My gut says suicide.

And you think the dog said "Yeah, if you're going I am too"?

“Goddammit! All winter long I got to listen to him gripe about his bowling scores. Now I’m gonna bust your ass for those three bags and I’m gonna nail you for picking your feet in Poughkeepsie.”

“Not if it’s carbon monoxide poisoning.”

My thought too. It is a silent killer.

A hardware store I used to go to had two golden retrievers that roamed the aisles and had their dog beds behind the counter. I noticed one had a dent in his head and the other limped on his front leg-shoulder. When I asked about it, I was informed that the prior owner had committed suicide and first shot both his dogs. The dogs dragged themselves a half mile to a neighbor and the shooter did his best work on himself, because he died instantly.

The hardware store owner was a family friend, and took in the dogs. He felt the store, with constant activity and strangers would be the best environment for them to hopefully forget that trauma.

My thoughts exactly. Probably Carbon monoxide poising. Dad had some friends killed by it in Farley NM way back in the 1960s. That is why I sleep with a window slightly opened even in the coldest nights and will NEVER use a kerosene heater in my house.
