The Beatles were a rock band?
5 brit bands huh.....hmmmm π€
No. Queen and Led ok.
AC/DC
Van Halen
Metallica
I’m okay with the choices, but I’d swap Queen for either AC/DC or Black Sabbath
The Who should be third, at least.
In their prime, The Who would have blown all those other bands off the stage.
No Lynyrd Skynyrd or AC/DC?
Captain and Tenille?
What joke.
Where’s the Eagles?
They have the most number 1 hits only 2nd to the Beatles.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers have more hits than Pink Floyd even.
horrible list
ABBA is better than all of them, and the beach boys were better than the beatles
What happened to Little Richard and his Upsetters?
Those five bands are great! I could disagree, but why bother?
Kinks!
All 5 deserving imo. I could swap Kiss with any of them though.
The ONLY metric by which you can judge is No. 1 hits.
That’s it.
Other than that, its just personal taste.
The Beach Boys
The Doors
The Wrecking Crew
The Beatles
The Stones
The Beatles are my second favorite band, but, I am not sure they qualify as a Rock Band.
A list that does not contain Spinal Tap is invalid.
So, Rock and Roll was created in the U.S., but now only British bands are eligible. This is very Jann Wenner.
I go with what Lemmy said:
βThe Beatles were hard men. Brian Epstein cleaned them up for mass consumption, but they were anything but sissies. They were from Liverpool, which is like Hamburg or Norfolk, Virginia β a hard, sea-farin’ town, all these dockers and sailors around all the time who would beat the piss out of you if you so much as winked at them. Ringo’s from the Dingle, which is like the f___ing Bronx.β
The Rolling Stones were the mummy’s boys β they were all college students from the outskirts of London. They went to starve in London, but it was by choice, to give themselves some sort of aura of disrespectability. I did like the Stones, but they were never anywhere near the Beatles β not for humor, not for originality, not for songs, not for presentation. All they had was Mick Jagger dancing about. Fair enough, the Stones made great records, but they were always s__t on stage, whereas the Beatles were the gear.β
