This concept had a revival in the late 19th century which, as we know, was an era when notions of history and nationality held by seemingly educated people were largely informed by pseudoscience and mysticism.

The advancements brought about by great leaps in technology veiled a lingering propensity towards superstitions such as reincarnation and theosophy. Bizarre theories propounded by the likes of Helena Blatavsky and Edward Bulwer-Lytton were given equal credence with actual science.

Also held by Grace Communion International (formerly “Worldwide Church of God”, formerly “The Plain Truth”). Those were the folks who used to give away the Plain Truth Magazine in airports. They tithe at 30% or more, and featured self-proclaimed Scripture expert Herbert Armstrong. Also ran the TV show “The World Tomorrow”.

Gene Scott was on during all Broadcast hours of WHCT-TV 18 in Hartford, CT. He started out with the three piece suit look which was a thing in the '70s, and eventually had a wild, unkempt, long beard and Bohemian style.

And there’s a possibility that the Prophet Jeremiah was entombed in Ireland in a place called T-Cairn? And prior to going there he went with the daughter of the king Zedekiah to Egypt where she was married and re-united the breech of Judah’s first twin son. Just a thought.

This argument is silly. Here’s why…Before God destroyed Israel (the Northern Kingdom) in the 8th Century BC, the Believers of the north came south to Judah (the southern kingdom). The size of Jerusalem doubled in a few days. So actually, the 10 tribes are represented in Israel today. They are not lost. The unbelievers of Israel were dispersed among the Assyrian Empire. They have assimilated with those cultures.

For the same reason the Black Israelites started to falsely claim this in the late 1800s.

Or people identify with protagonists in stories and begin to imagine themselves as Luke Skywalker.

The English all read these stories and want to claim the mantle of their heroes, so they look for something to potentially make it true.

Apparently we all came out of Africa.
They MUST mean sub-Sahara Africa since not all north Africans are black.
Egyptians ran/run the gamut of color.

We are what we are because of geography and climate.

I have read a few books on the subject, and use to listen to ole Gene Scott, am no expert certainly, but it us amusing how he hangs his entire arguments on two concepts that don’t really amount to much.

Cyrus H. Gordon wrote that the early Greeks were Israelites, of the the tribe of Dan, who left Egypt before the main exodus under Moses.

Josepheus said the Trojans were Jews.
