This concept had a revival in the late 19th century which, as we know, was an era when notions of history and nationality held by seemingly educated people were largely informed by pseudoscience and mysticism.

The advancements brought about by great leaps in technology veiled a lingering propensity towards superstitions such as reincarnation and theosophy. Bizarre theories propounded by the likes of Helena Blatavsky and Edward Bulwer-Lytton were given equal credence with actual science.

Go back to Noah - the sons were Shem, Ham and Japeth.

The jews descended from Japeth. (J branch on the DNA tree).

The sons of Japeth (R1b) took Europe.

The sons of Ham took Africa.
