U.S. President Donald Trump is preparing to dissolve the leadership of the U.S. Postal Service and absorb the independent mail agency into his administration, the Washington Post reported on Thursday.
The newspaper, citing six people familiar with the plans, reported that Trump is expected to issue an executive order as soon as this week to fire the members of the Postal Service's governing board and place the agency under the control of the Commerce Department.

Astronomers searching for a Black Hole need look no further than the USPS.....................
Since USPS has been involved in delivering fraudulent ballots to steal elections, this move is critical. No more USPS trucks moving fake ballots election night.
US Postal Service privatization may be on the table after Postmaster’s resignation
That is one agency that REALLY needs to clean up their rules for bulk shipping and mailings for corporate. So needlessly complicated. It is like they dare you to do business with them.
I remember after the disastrous Sperry-Burroughs merger, that someone was buying the new Unisys equipment. THat someone was the USPS.
Good. It has always had an awful administrative model that caused employee resentment and poor performance (remember the phrase”going postal”) and obviously created massive inefficiency. It was also technology resistant and I think got into mostly hanging on to bureaucrat jobs.
Walking into a post office and figuring out how to ship a package is ridiculously complicated and for no reason.
Not to mention the level of rudness by counter workers actually surpasses that of McDonald’s employees.
It’s one fiefdom that needs to be razed and the ground it was built on salted.
should have been eliminated when ‘Going Postal’ became a thing.................
“So needlessly complicated”
AMEN!

This dude was nightmare fuel for me as a kid.
I have a package that was due in yesterday that sat in the Black Hole in Kentucky until I went to bed, I'm in Alabama. I checked this morning and it found its way to New Jersey in a more intense Black Hole with the new delivery date of the 26th. If they had just left it sit in Kentucky, I could have walked there and back before the 26th.
As soon as this takes place, the President should send a team into the new regional post office in Atlanta and get rid of all of the worthless zombies making U.S. mail processing into, and out of, Atlanta, an unreliable disgrace.
The timely delivery of U.S. mail varies widely across the nation. There is no excuse for this incompetence in 2025.
The Pony Express would provide superior service compared to today’s American mail delivery in many locations. The Pony Express of 1860-1861 only took ten days to deliver a letter 2,000 miles away...BY HORSEBACK.
My neighborhood employs the use of “cluster mail boxes”....a couple of weeks ago whoever delivered the mail left the doors to AT LEAST TWO cluster boxes wide open, leaving every piece of mail in the box unsecured......and that wasn’t the first time either.
Because they are government employees, and they feel safe and entitled.
It’s just like the DMV. It because such a popular culture joke and trope that DMV workers are slow, rude, and unhelpful that a lot of states reformed their motor vehicle divisions.
Don’t get me wrong. There are probably a LOT of postal workers who are very nice people. I’ve known a few.
But when you have zero fear for your job, your mentality changes over time. There’s a lot of “why should I go the extra mile” and “that’s not my job”
We’ve had trouble with USPS delivery in my neck of the Upstate NY woods for years.
Including issues with Priority Mail, signature required...
I’ve told small businesses that I use that if my only choice for shipping is USPS, and I’m happy to pay for UPS or FedEx, then I’ll use another biz.
