REMEMEBR: They only need a simple majority to pass this Budget resolution

So it’ll pass with GOP votes minus Rand Paul if his amendment is not included

Personally, I am disgusted with “Continuing resolutions” in place of discreet individual ON TIME budgets.
Nothing but mischief and pork trading.
And of course lots of STUPID hidden in fine print on page 7062 that will never be read before the vote.
“We have to pass it to know what is in it”, ring any bells?

Just checking in the Democrats are still at it , offering amendments

Currently Warren (Mass.) has one that says anyone who earns $10 million will not get a tax cut. Kennedy (LA) is opposing.

I haven’t seen Rand’s yet

...

The Warren Amendment was rejected by voice vote!

Kelly from Arizona is now offering an amendment that suggests anyone earning $100 million a year should not get a tax cut

Kelly’s amendment also rejected by voice vote.

King (Maine) now offers an amendment saying no one who earns $500m should get a tax cut

Idaho’s senator urges a No. King’s amendment Rejected by voice vote.

Why are the Dems doing this?

I see Rand is at his desk as are most of the senators

It looks like some of the more interesting amendments will be cleared now

Mike Lee offered one though I missed the details they’re taking a recorded vote

Merkley (Ore.) is back and offers an amendment to reduce prescription drug costs. Idaho’s senator opposes saying it’s irrelevant

It’s going to be a long night...

I think they’re voting on the bill now

Doesn’t look great the senators can barely move. Graham looks shattered and Kennedy (LA) is hobbling around.

It’s 4:40am ET

Rands amendment to ACTUALLY cut spending by 1.5 trillion :

Statement of Purpose: To require an adequate amount of deficit reduction as part of reconciliation.

Vote Counts:

YEAs: 24
NAYs: 76

They’re not serious Freepers. Half the GOP is against him there.

Why are the Dems doing this?

So they can go in front of the cameras and tell the public that the Republicans want tax cuts for the rich. it’s a game. All over social media for the past week has been nothing but this budget is about taking away from Americans and giving “tax breaks” to the Billionaires. It’s disgusting...

It’s a distraction.

As long as baseline budgeting is being used, any talk of cuts is a farce.

Getting rid of “baseline” budgeting should be a priority.
