“Diversity is our Strength”.
My favorite was the prominent Economics professor at college who explained that the national debt was nothing to worry about because “we owe it to ourselves”.
Lol.
The earth is round... /Sarc
me too, read the book by that name. I guess if we waited for the next natural glaciation it’s true.
How about, Democrats are the party of the working class and Republicans are the party of the Rich who look down on and dismiss ordinary Americans and their dreams and needs.
>>>I think K-12 really went downhill from the late 70’s...........<<<
When the Department of Education was created by James Earl Carter, (D)oofus from Georgia..............................
Every thing I did would go on my “Permanent Record”.
I would need 2 years of a foreign language to be considered for college.
I would NEED college to avoid living as a “ditch digger”.
My late sister never earned a HS degree. Yet, she attained a college degree by attending college at night.
If you have the money, you can go to college.
“Can’t remember her name, some self-described progressive, was always throwing in a diatribe and invective against Reagan, one time she called us all “bourgeois”. This was a high school in Iowa. I should have broken her jaw, looking back. Somebody should have.”
Hillary taught high school in Iowa? Who knew!
I’m surprised the #1 answer isn’t “Columbus discovered America”.
Columbus made much more of a difference because he discovered America and found a way to get back to where he started from, and his “discovery” stuck.
I am disheartened by all the things people are posting which are true, which they claim to be lies.
My school even lied about that. They told us it was a tornado drill
The electron orbited the nucleus. What a letdown.
Haha that’s what I was going to say. I remember those stupid little exercises lol.
Let me rephrase that... “Columbus discovered America FIRST” from the old world is what we were taught. Yet L’Anse aux Meadows was found and dated to 1000 years ago in 1960. And even though they knew this they still left it in the books for years that he found America first. We still celebrate Columbus day now based on that same misrepresentation and evidence to the contrary.
That we were all going to starve and then freeze to death due to global cooling.
- The creation of the UN was a good thing.
- Martin Luther King Jr. was a saint.
- Abraham Lincoln was also a saint, except for Sherman’s March—that was not okay. (American History teacher might have been an undercover conservative.)
- Higher education is the only way to get ahead.
- Taking out loans to pay for said higher education is absolutely the fiscally responsible thing to do.
- Plastic bags are better than paper bags because using paper kills trees.
- The live spider in a jar on the windowsill is a black widow.
- Your third-grade teacher is 103 years old.
Lol.
The tornado drill lie would only have worked in tornado country.
If they had tried that in New England the kids would have laughed at them.
(Not only are tornados relatively rare in New England—but most of the few that do happen here are during the summer when school is not in session.)
When I got in trouble, they told me it would go on my permanent record. 😁
I hope you know that this will go down on your permanent record
Oh, yeah?
Well, don’t get so distressed
Did I happen to mention that I’m impressed?
“You’re going to be in big trouble young man!”
Sugar and spice, and everything nice.
That “affirmative action” was needed to help people who had suffered from “institutionalized racism”.
