There is absolute panic in DC. Thousands are going to prison and all the taxpayer money they stole will be clawed back.
Internet search trends in the Washington, DC, metro area have been nothing short of stunning in recent weeks, reflecting what appears to be growing panic within the federal bureaucracy as President Trump and Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) root out corruption in non-governmental organizations (NGO) and federal agencies.
Earlier this week, internet search trends for "Criminal Defense Lawyer" and "RICO Laws" went viral on X, fueling speculation that Washington's political elites were in panic mode.
The searches coincided with DOGE's efforts to neuter USAID's funding of NGOs that propped up a shadow government, as well as begin cutting tens of thousands of workers from various federal agencies.
I seriously doubt thousands are going to prison.
Most will cut deals that include restitution of stolen money in return for plea deal.
But much of the money involved is still resident in bank accounts. Prepare to be mildly amazed at the who’s and how much info to come out.

Money is gone? Get creative. To start paying the taxpayers back, start by eliminating property taxes, we can also offer free federal land to taxpayers, and I would imagine seizing all their mansions, assets, bank accounts, investments etc would be significant, then start selling government buildings, property etc...

Follow the money. If money traveled, so did the crime.
Democrats write books then these funds buy millions of copies that end up in every barn, pool house, shed,basement and outhouse around DC. When the estate sale takes place the hundreds of boxes of these books make for cheap fire starters to keep the homes warm.not very eco friendly.
Then there must not be any panic in Washington.
That problem was solved years ago - ‘donors’ pay Publishers NOT to print the books. Then the numbers show sales but there no bad ‘evidence’ showing up in the secondary markets. In the old days used book stores would get those political books for pennies on the dollar - and still have to dump them. Remember when Jill Biden was calling for a BIG book deal - from democrats. It’s telling - dot connecting.

Yep...first thing I thought of when reading the topic headline was David Bowie.
For the unfamiliar, the reference is to Bowie’s “Panic in Detroit”.
Is that because so many Republicans would be exposed, those who were also in on looting and robbing the taxpayers of hundreds of billions?
Some estimate trillions.
Some will have to go to prison.
Remember, in New York they convicted President Trump on 34 counts of booking legal expenses as legal expenses.
In DC, thousands of people are responsible for booking billions of dollars of transactions through the Treasury system with NO categorizations at all!
They created "projects" as if they were shell companies, and routed more billions of dollars from one project to the next to the next to hide the cash flows.
They made even more billions of dollars in IRS payments to people with no social security numbers or other personal ids.
If President Trump is a "convicted felon" because he DID categorize his business transactions, then someone has to go to prison in DC for failing to categorized government transactions.

Yes, Republicans would be exposed, but I believe that most of the stolen money has been spent and invested over the years. Look at all the lavish mansions owned by the DC pols who entered Congress with modest fortunes that grew to great fortunes.
It would be just desserts to convict them and take their assets as repayment, leaving them penniless in their dotage. But you and I both know that will never happen. Nor will “thousands” be arrested and imprisoned.
I’d be happy if a dozen or a hundred were arrested, tried, convicted and sent to prison. But I won’t keep my hopes up for even that very low bar. Maybe if Trump was 50 years old and could serve four terms, then we’d have a prayer.
JD is performing very well. I hope he learns a lot from Trump and can get elected for eight years, but I despair that the nation will snap back to its old ways and elect a rabid commie “democrat” in ‘28 or ‘32.
Yawn… Wake me up when a sanctuary city mayor or governor is arrested. All talk, no action, when it comes to government officials.

I believe there will also be many members of Congre$$ that have been engaged in graft and are criticizing DOGE and are now afraid of being exposed.
