that is just it, you are not independent, you are part of the executive branch lead by President Trump.

And Trump is simply rooting out those who previously misused the FBI to investigate their political rivals and purge them from government. As anyone American should want them to be purged.

Whoever this slob is he’s doing a shitty job making NYC a safe place.

Meanwhile the FBI does panty raids and harasses parents at school board meetings. Real tough guys.

The House of Representatives can set his pay at $1 a year if they choose. He probably wouldn’t stick around very long?

As the man said, the constitution gives the president the power to oversee the executive branch. He can fire anyone he wishes within the executive branch. The Congress has no say in the matter. They can pass all the laws to the contrary they wish, but they cannot change the constitution without amendment.

I think they’re being very careful that these executive orders only apply to members/matters of the executive branch.

Could you imagine the press furor if an FBI chief was about to be fired by Obama or Clinton and said he was going to “dig in”?

“Today, we find ourselves in the middle of a battle of our own, as good people are being walked out of the F.B.I.”

Define “good people.” You mean like James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strozk, Lisa Page?

Bye, bye . . .

I am listening to a podcast interview with this guy from a year ago, and he thinks people like us who are outraged at the weaponization of the FBI are off base, the that FBI is unbiased.

And he subscribes to the DEI crap from what I can tell. He talks the talk about “Oh, we don’t decrease standards...” which is BS in my opinion.

To my ear, he sounds like part of the problem.

I keep in mind, I am biased against him from the context of his “digging in” comment, and may be reading more into it than he deserves.

“And he subscribes to the DEI crap from what I can tell. He talks the talk about “Oh, we don’t decrease standards...” which is BS in my opinion.”

By Definition DEI lowers standards, otherwise existing anti-discrimination laws would be sufficient. The purpose of DEI is go beyond discrimination and to bring people of selected classes into positions that would otherwise be filled by non-DEIs. So, by definition, you’ve lowered the standards for DEIs (and, by default, raised the standards for non-DEIs). Net result is that you get lower-level DEIs taking the positions of qualified non-DEIs.

Should have been ILLEGAL from the start as that fits the definition of already existing anti-discrimination laws, which are colorblind.
