How do you convince the most fortunate people on Earth that they should hate the country they’ve benefited from their whole lives?

A short video from 2021 of Avi Horowitz interviewing students at Yale University was recently re-posted by Prager Univ. The students in the video found the idea of getting rid of our U.S. Constitution to be plausible and interesting, and moreover, many of them embraced that as a legitimate and desirable goal. One of the interviewees stated emphatically that our Constitution is a racist document. Although it is not clear that this brief video represents a majority or even a sizable minority of the students at Yale, it is amazing to this writer that we should hear even a few voices at one of our leading educational institutions so hostile to the fundamental laws that govern our democratic republic.

As a simple-minded person, I grew up with the idea that following the laws of the United States in matters large and small was a blessed opportunity. Following our laws is not something I ever did grudgingly because of a deeper feeling or thought process that by doing so, I was sabotaging my own life and the lives of others. No. I grew up wanting to be a law-abiding but reflective citizen because I believed in the fundamental values of law and government that are historically pre-eminent in our country.

At one point, during the anti–Vietnam War protests, I was studying as a graduate student at Harvard, and a cadre of students had chained the doors and barricaded themselves into one of the administrative buildings as a protest against the war. I agreed that there were legitimate areas to debate about war policy, but an unalloyed opposition to the war to the extent of actually breaking the law

“This upward mobility across all income classifications was possible because of the growth of the American economy. Over the 35 years of the study, real median family income rose by 89%.”

The author misses the point that this increase was fueled by the destruction of the American family. Instead of having a breadwinner and stay at home mom we now have 2 working parents with the children being raised by daycare.

When I returned to the USA in 2018 to get my 5 year old daughter educated here I was amazed at how spoiled her friends were. The kids rooms were packed with expensive toys as both parents worked and they spent lots of money on the kids. While my daughter does not realize it yet, but she is so blessed that instead of a getting all the stuff she wants she has 2 stay at home parents. However IMHO she is still being spoiled by her daddy.

Money by the trillions for what

Envy is one of the communist’s most powerful motivators. Not by coincidence, envy is also one of Satan’s tools to draw souls to him.

Correct. Adding to the list:

Millions of developmentally stunted children and young adults (a result of school shutdowns).

Millions of psychologically damaged children and young adults (indoctrinated with the demonic notion that one can change one’s sex).

Lord knows how many children whose sexual organs were removed by satanic ‘doctors’.

The acceptance of a zero-privacy culture, seemingly out of nowhere.

The absolute financial gutting of the middle class.

Etc.

It's almost as if the former President's family had received $27+ million from the nation's mortal enemy in exchange for implementing policies to destroy this nation.

Perhaps both are captured by the word resentment.

Some of the left’s resentment is captured by a poor understanding of economics. Here’s a hypothetical case to consider.

An elderly couple live in California. Their modest home has a market value of $1.5 million. Their financial assets consist of IRAs and checking accounts totaling $1.5 million. Their net worth is about $3 million. They are multi-millionaires.

Talk to a leftist about someone with a net worth in the millions, say $3 million, and they will be disgusted. “That money could be used to feed the poor.” In reality, the people described above have the resources they need to live comfortably and perhaps provide some inheritance to their children. Shocking? Hardly. The couple managed their entire lives, working, saving, investing, to achieve this outcome.

Properly viewed, this is not injustice. It is justice. Society benefited from their lives well lived.
