After the U.S. Supreme Court upheld a ban on the Chinese social media platform TikTok, Gen Z managed to stay upset about the ban for a full 4.3 seconds, which is the maximum amount of time they can focus on anything thanks to TikTok.
The nation braced for a groundswell of outrage from millions of TikTok users, but the outrage died out almost as soon as it began.
"I'm furious. I'm outraged about this. I'm — hey look! Nintendo Switch 2 is coming out!" said Mavryyck Dixon, a former Gen Z TikTok user. "I can't believe they would — yoooooooooo look at this Instagram baddie! This violates my freedom of — BRO these cargo jeans are bussin, no cap. What were we talking about again? Oh well."
Dixon then released some nervous energy by making weird noises and doing a dance he made up for the hot new Chinese app Red Book.

Not a joke -
Heartbroken TikTokers freak out as ban shuts down app for 170M users in US: ‘THIS IS A CRIME’
Someone needs to tell these “heartbroken TikTokers” the Indeed.com job board is still working,
When you don’t know what sex you are tiktok should be the least of your worries.
One of the better LOL Bees.
Trump will rescind the Tik-Tok ban for 90 days, to allow the sale to an American outfit. TikTok has huge participation, with “creators” making money from videos. So why kill it for good?
So after Americans buy it, user’s data will not be flowing into CCP data storage centers.
Gen Z????? Are those the ones with the blue hair and nose rings?
Yep. And they don’t know whether they are male or female.
No, Blue Hairs are the old ladies that drive 40 mph in the left lane
Bttt
Have you been Trapped behind a Blue Hair Fat lesbo Female Gen Zero driver texting in the fast lane doing 40 mph .
Same thing but they get nasty .
I've heard many complaints from people earning money from social media platforms that the platforms constantly change their payment calculations to reduce payments, so if you used to get thousands of dollars for a certain number of views you might drop to a hundred or even seven in one case. TikTok apparently doesn't do that because they would rather get the CCP's tentacles into US culture than cheat the creators. If a US company buys it, I expect it will drop the payments quickly , thus killing the golden goose.
TikTok is a YouTube rival and competitor. You saw how about 3 years ago, YouTube suddenly came up with a way to post YouTube shorts. Shorts is how YT competes with TikTok, for the short attention span generations.
YouTube pays out to so-called creators. So even after an American entity pays billions to the CCP to scoop up TikTok, TikTok must continue their payout policy. aka Competition.
I never knew this. Just shows how much the CCP wants data on American youth. The American version of TikTok is banned in China. Because it is so amoral, that it would corrupt Chinese youth. China has its own sanitized version of TikTok for the Chinese.
YouTube is actually very generous with revenue sharing. The creators keep most of the money. YouTube provides the infrastructure and massive audience base, and it even markets and promotes new content. All creators have to do is provide content that engages viewers enough to stay on the platform.
Creators only make a tiny bit of money on revenue sharing from ads. They make more money on affiliate commissions and sponsorships, which they control and do placements for on their own channels. But the most money they make is usually from direct sales to their followers. The important thing regarding this is to establish a direct connection with their audience through channels they own, such as an email newsletter. This also is a hedge against being deplatformed or demonetized.
For example, Mr. Beast gets about a hundred million views on a typical YouTube video he produces. He’ll make about $2 million on ads. That’s 2 cents per view. He’ll make 2.5 to 3 million dollars for a sponsorship (a single shoutout in his video). He makes most of his money selling merchandise and tickets to events he produces. His videos have high production value and associated costs to achieve this.
