I find an alternative to traditional plate tectonic theory “Shock Dynamics (https://www.newgeology.us/) fascinating and plausible.

“It’s like a doctor who has been examining blood circulation with ultrasound for decades and finds arteries exactly where he expects them,” explained ETH professor Andreas Fichtner, one of the authors of the published study outlining the discovery. “Then, if you give him a new, better examination tool, he suddenly sees an artery in the buttock that doesn’t really belong there. That’s exactly how we feel about the new findings.”
That does kinda explain it...................

During the IGY (which lasted more like 20), it was first noticed that the surface of the ocean had bulges of a sort, due to the differences in density of strata below the seafloor. :^) For good measure, I've included the usual Potsdam Gravity Potato keyword topic list. :^)

R.B. Interesting!
Maybe a distant past Asteroid strike hit what is now the Pacific basin blasting out what is now the moon and left a highly disturbed geology behind. It would not have been a head on strike, but more of a grazing strike that would leave the earth intact and kick out the material that is now the moon. It would leave a big magma oozing sore that would not follow current plate tectonic theory and leave it with a lot of splattery looking formations.

“ Genesis 1:2 Now the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep. “
Doesn’t that sound like an ocean?

Totally agree. Thank you for the intelligent response.
What happens in a magneto type dynamo when the axis (fields) align and friction is decreased?

I don’t know. You’ve reached the limit of my knowledge on this.
