That is market manipulation and he should be fined. The same day he said it he posted job openings for quantum computing engineers for nvda.

D-Wave CEO can prove it if it’s true.

Why does NVIDIA have a crazy P/E?

D-wave’s market cap went up 10X in six weeks of November and December

It merely shows how willing “the market,” and all its investment funds and speculators, are still willing to throw money at any new “tech” concept.

Quantum computing entering into general use is decades away.

Which is not to say that there is not going to be research using powerful quantum computers being used to solve specialized problems in the near term.

In fact, that is already happening. We are nowhere near that point yet.

In fact, that is already happening.

But quantum computing involves some very difficult problems that need to be solved and extensive testing and validation needs to be done before quantum computers can be trusted for high reliability, fault and error free mission critical computing applications.

We are nowhere near that point yet.

Quantum computing is currently the subject of physics PhD thesis research!

It doesn’t sound like it is ready for general use any time soon!

One decade at most. This isn’t fusion energy. Huang is wrong and I own NVDA but may be cutting back based on what looks like desperate talk. Quantum computing hardware, albeit primitive, exists and the concept has been proven by Google. Using Moore’s Law (doesn’t really apply here though) and AI helping with design will bring about practical quantum computing way before decades pass.

One remark from the CEO of Nvidia and all the Quantum Computing stock prices came crashing!

How about that?

It is still ambiguously theoretical

He’s dead wrong about “AI agents” too, and LLMs in general. He is in many ways a snake oil salesman. But most people know little about AI, so think he is a prophet. He is just a chip salesman.

Big financial firms have been throwing money at quantum computing for more than 5 years. There is certainly interest in the practical concept of its application to make money.

This from being there and getting previews of practical applications that are publicly acknowledged. I could only speculate on what they haven’t disclosed.

Nvidia's probably the maker of the chip for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Anyway, the rest of the Nvidia keyword, plus the Nvidia-in-topic-title search results, sorted, with (I think) duplicates out:
