Nvidia Corp. has just given the world the details of its historic financial year. Its reward: Expectations that the chip maker will accomplish something that has never been done before.

When Nvidia wrapped up its fiscal year with an earnings report last week, the astounding numbers sent the stock to records and boosted indexes to their own all-time highs. The market capitalization of the company is hovering around $2 trillion and its stock has increased by nearly 1,900% in the last five years.

But if you think closely about a few of the numbers that were included in Nvidia’s recent financial report, you will realize just how incredible Nvidia’s last financial year turned out. It really is one for the record books.

I bought shares in 2018, sold about half of it in 2020 because I thought 100% ROI wouldn't go higher. Now my ROI is 2000%, wish I had decided to hold onto the stock I sold in 2020.

Time to make our neighbor cut down the ivy loaded tall fir trees that would fall on our house in a big windstorm. (He is chief technology officer for Nvidia....his 2nd home, rarely used).

They make good products that have been given excellent support for longer than other companies do. Their products have been in short supply for various reasons which caused a huge markup in prices that is taking a long time to recede. It is incredible to me that the GPU in a gaming machine typically costs more than the CPU.

Last night I was working on sharing a Quadro M2000M card in a virtual machines. The card was released in 2015, but drivers that were released a month ago still work with it.

They are riding the AI wave, which depends mainly on GPUs.

The GPU I use for my engineering and design software are a good 5 times more than the rest of the box.

I should have bought stock years ago. But I invested in machinery and materials. Then, when things were going fabulous, kung flu shutdowns and Chomo Biden wiped out my entire sector. Good times....

I think they also make the chips used in a lot of bitcoin miners. Faster chips means more rewards means some pretty big money.

That thing has twice the VRAM of my 4090... still I don’t think it’s worth 4x as much.

I hear that the 5090 will more than double performance of the 4090, if it is not a huge increase in price that might be a great GPU.

Max Raytrace at 8k maybe....

I hope that AMD will be like Nvidia this coming year.
Nvidia up nearly $600 a share in the past 1 year!

AMD is UP again. Now at $202.64 +10.11 (+5.25%)
Up about $26 in 2 days. $40 in 10 days.
In 4 months the stock has more then doubled. UP $106!
