Gavin Newsom appears on the verge of tears as he is confronted over Trump's claims he caused LA fires

Gavin Newsom became emotional when asked about Donald Trump placing the blame on the California governor for the disastrous, killer wildfires that have ravaged the state.

Trump said that the governor, who he referred to as 'Gavin Newscum,' a favorite of the Republican's pet names, was at fault for the disaster.

The president-elect lambasted Newsom in a Truth Social post Wednesday for focusing on environmental priorities like 'worthless fish' over those of Golden State residents.

Speaking to Anderson Cooper amid the fires in Los Angeles Wednesday, Newsom was visibly hurt by the criticism.

'People are literally fleeing. People have lost their lives. Kids lost their schools, families completely torn asunder, churches burned down, he said.'

Newsom avoided going further in on Trump: 'I have a lot of thoughts and I know what I want to say... I won't.'

He then raged at Trump for trying to 'politicize' the disaster, while contrasting him with Joe Biden.

'I stood next to a President of the United States of America today, and I was proud to be with Joe Biden. And he had the backs of every single person in this community. He didn't play politics, didn't try to divide any of us.'

It followed Newsom's press office slamming Trump for claiming he could demand water flow into California at any time and isn't doing so on purpose.

'There is no such document as the water restoration declaration – that is pure fiction,' a spokesperson for Newsom wrote.

'The Governor is focused on protecting people, not playing politics, and making sure firefighters have all the resources they need.'

Newsom loves this deep inside validating “extreme weather.” I don’t understand if he has any logic in that greasy head of his regarding his green BS.

Not caring about his tears. This is all him and as for politics he was kissing Biden’s wiped butt for money because California is 100 billion in debt from mismanagement.

The truth hurts doesn't it? Poor baby. Of course it is all about him and his feelings. His house didn't burn. What a puke. Of course we know that and it should go without saying.

Who thinks this is going to change anything though? California has burned every year for ages and nothing changes. The fires still happen, peiple still whine and point fingers, the truth comes out in drips and nothing changes.

Exactly. It’s not hard to keep breaks in vegetation along all major roads for evacuation purposes and to function as a sort of fire break. It may not stop the fire, however, it can slow the spread to give people time to safely evacuate and the FD to get resources in.

Exactly. Sorry, can’t clear that overgrown dry brush along the roads or near houses, someone saw a mouse in it. It’s for the environment, meanwhile half a city of houses, cars, etc. burn.

In many ways - always the wrong priorities

Trump’s criticism isn’t politicization of the disaster climate and odd species preservationists. It’s a complete rebuke. Refusal to clear cut areas, cut fire roads, build new reservoirs (for the sake of some little smelt fish)

Couple those nonexpansion/modernization policies on water systems/reservoir and you have a disaster in waiting - it’s called Palisades....

Heck, even doing something like keeping the LA River dammed up for an emergency water supply would help. Cheaper to do that that build new reservoirs

Biden sure treats Newsome differently than the people who lost their homes and livelyhoods during the hurricanes...remember..."no money for you".....

Biden has already sent Newsome 500 Million.

The fires just burned up Newsom’s chances at being president of the United States. He should be tossed out and his whole corrupt party. The plan to buy up cheap land to enrich Newsom’s friends should be blocked—LA aint Hawaii.

Democrat Joe Biden is trying to kill off conservatives

That’s why he dragged his feet on the train derailment and FEMA is pulling aid from North Carolina

Change my mind.

Notice sodomite Anderson Cooper didn’t frame it as to exactly what Trump said. He just said- Trump attacked you , giving Newsome an out to play the victim.

“ ‘The Governor is focused on protecting people, not playing politics, and making sure firefighters have all the resources they need.”

They need water, Governor, and lots of it. It was your job to make sure they had it.

And you failed.

Letting hordes of homeless bums and illegal aliens set up camps in fire-prone neighborhoods where they start fires to cook and keep warm is a prescription for disaster as has just been proven in spades. Sanctuary City done burned down.

And the only reason Joe Biden would have any American citizen’s back is so he could stick a knife in it.

>> Are we sure this isn’t terrorism?

Irrelevant, because *setting* the fires isn’t the worst part of it. Lack of ability to *respond* to the fires with a competent, adequate staff of firefighters armed with, y’know, actual SUPPLIES OF FREAKING WATER — that’s the problem here.

Terrorists could strike the spark, but only with gross state incompetence could that spark result in horrific damage.
