OPEN LETTER TO CALIFORNIA FREEPERS (Please Check In)

To all my fellow Freepers who live in California,

Especially those in the Los Angeles area,

I'm monitoring the out-of-control fires that are raging in your area. My heart breaks for you all.

The scenes I am seeing look like a Biblical disaster. A small nuclear device would have done less damage. The entire LA area looks like it will be utterly destroyed.

I'm leaving out any discussion of fault, that is fodder for another thread. This thread is simply to wish you all well. Please remember, your life (and the life of those you love, including pets) is of paramount importance. Material goods, while important, are not as important as your safety.

As you can, please check in and let us know you are safe.

For those who have not yet understood how bad it is, please see this video, which is a shot someone took who was flying into LAX.

They’re saying say out here on the East Coast the winds are 80mph+.

And the way this thing is moving I hope he’s alright.

It’s situations like this that make me grateful for snow. It can be a pain, but the house is still standing and we can stay put.

We did have a dry summer and there was quite a fire risk, and with the woods we have here in NH, kit would not be a good situation. So my heart goes out to all who are paying the ultimate price for this, especially knowing what caused it and that no justice will ever be forthcoming over it, at least here on earth.

Checked on some friends in the area. They currently check safe. But, WOW! Like the fires in the Sierras a while back except highly congested population in this case.

It was really just a matter of time before this happened.

I do hope it wasn't intentionally set.

God of All Comfort, as the days are getting longer, water is drying up quickly. There is anxiety, panic, and unrest amongst us.
