The owners were walking their dogs when out of nowhere the dogs were electrocuted and died. They were walking the dogs on the sidewalk in a nice city neighborhood.

This is horrible story. The dogs were on the sidewalk with no exposed wiring visible.

Seriously, this really bothers me. It makes no sense. If it were hoodlums who were killed it wouldn't bother me, but dogs hit close to home. Heartbreaking. So sorry the owners. Imagine walking your dog normally and out of nowhere then are dead.

How were the owners walking the dogs not electrocuted?

Electrocuted means dead.

Shocked is when they live.

How do you suppose it happened? The report doesn’t include any information.

The story so far —

2 dogs dead after being electrocuted
Two dogs are deceased after being electrocuted
a report of two dogs being electrocuted
it was reported that a dog was shocked to death on a sidewalk.

When I lived in Northern Va., there were a group of military servicemen who were erecting a flagpole at a neighborhood athletic field, when the crane accidently hit the high wires, and electrocuted like 7 or 8 instantly. That too was extremely sad.

Aww, man. That’s heartbreaking. I feel for those dogs’ human family members. 😢

My dog was zapped sniffing a wet lamp post in the rain in North Myrtle Beach a few months ago. I heard a snapping sound, he jumped and got away from it. Good thing he wasn’t peeing on it. A few days later when everything was dry, no problem. Got to be careful around wet outdoor electric stuff.

Probably a transformer w/corroded casing near the ground. Maybe even a hole in it. I’ve seen rusted out crap like that around.

When they were setting up the big tents on the Bucknell University campus for graduation, they accidentally drove a big steel tent stake through a buried electric cable. No one realized it until the ground became electrified. Luckily, no one was harmed.
