Amazing how countries like N. Korea and Cuba go on for decades in the dark ages in an otherwise modern world

And for those that think canines a delicacy, there are a hundred ways to wok your dog.Prior to moving to Idaho, I lived in the Mira Mesa area of north San Diego. Often called "Manila Mesa". The area has a large asian population. Chinese, Vietnamese, Filipino in large numbers. A co-worker who also lived in Mira Mesa was unnerved when his next door neighbor looked over the back yard fence and saw his dog. The neighbor asked "how much?". The intent of the question was to buy his pet dog for the purpose of eating it.
Having noted the cultural difference, my sons benefited from the cultural habits related to getting an education. The homework on the dining room table after school habit. Good academic performance was a priority. A couple generations and the interest in eating the neighbor's pets mostly disappeared.

It’s not going to be pretty when this regime collapses for good. So many North Koreans will be in dire need.

The Army called it chow for a reason...

They’ll eat people, might even be doing that now. It wouldn’t surprise me.

Take a cold hot dog, slice it lengthwise and slice an inch off the end. Put mayo on one slice cheap white bread and ketchup on another slice. Slap together, yum. It is #3 on my sandwich list with a cold meatloaf sandwich taking 2nd place and a fresh from the garden warm juicy tomato and mayo sandwich at #1.

Who doesn’t love Tony.
Steamed white rice is nicely flavored with the water a polish sausage or similar was boiled in and it adds nutrients. Tasty in a stir fry or soup.

A Korean BBQ business bought out the owners of the local Garcia's Mexican restaurant. My wife and I finally tried it out last week. Choices are hot pot, grilled or both. One price, all you can eat. We both opted for hot pot as our first experience. Meats (choice of 2 at a time) are delivered to the table. A choice of broths on the menu is fulfilled with delivery of the "pot" with the requested broth. The rest of the food is served off a buffet table. Vegetables, kimchi, small hot dogs, vermicelli. It was an interesting visit. Next time will be grilled meat. Frankly, the Brazilian BBQ in Idaho Falls run by the former owners of Garcia's is a better value.

Ketchup on a hot dog? That’s supposed to be controversial.. What about "the works"? Fried onions, chili, kraut, catsup (or ketchup if you prefer) mayo and mustard.
